Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum said Friday that "nothing has been finalized" on a decision regarding Thomas Jones' future.

Tannenbaum did little to quell reports of Jones being on the outs, basically delivering a sendoff: "All I can say is I'm really fortunate we traded for him three years ago. He's done a lot of great things for us on the field and even more off the field." It's looking more and more likely that Jones will be released.

Good point, DB55. He was in the same draft class as Lewis and Alexander. At this point, he has about 300 less career carries than Lewis and 100 more than Alexander.

He may not be cooked at those guys but hes not far off.

Thomas Jones had 1400 yards last season. I think as long as he isn't asked to carry too heavy a load he can still be a feature back in this league. I wouldn't pay him big money at his age, but I think he's got some good running left in his tank.
