Huh?

From the Patriots:

"Fans won't want to miss what is sure to be a memorable pregame buildup to kickoff. Stadium gates open at 11 a.m. To avoid lines and delays, stadium officials recommend entering the stadium in the first hour. Fans will want to be in their seats prior to player introductions at 12:50 p.m."

Is this going to be some sort of surprise?

Wes Welker will make an appearance, is my guess.

Speaking of pregame introductions, why did they change the intro. video before that O Fortuna plays. Past couple of years they had the 300 guys yelling and before that they had Braveheart; now thy have crap.

Tom Curran, aka, Mr. Conspiracy Man, writes that 1) too many empty seats or 2) pissing contest with town selectman may make getting through the gates more difficult than usual (not sure how THAT is possible).

probably a fly over

Curran speculates that it could be because the Pats don't want to show a half-empty stadium on TV. There's been a lot more tickets available this week than in past weeks, and many STHs passed up the chance to buy playoff tickets. Personally, I'd say there was more than four times the amount of tickets available on TicketExchange this week than there was for any previous playoff game in this era.

This is what happens when tickets cost so much. They're bought by stalwarts AND people who don't want to sit out in the cold.

I was in a lower section for the 2007 AFC CG at about the 10 yard line, and there were on two season ticket holders in our row. I talked to one of them and he said everyone else was not a season ticket holder.

We even had a couple Chargers fans sitting in front of us.

Same here, same game.

They're even more expensive this year. End zone lower sections are $137, I think.

So sad. This is a tough economy. People have to make tough decisions about where they spend their money. I'm sure that other teams might be experiencing the same thing.

So sad, but it's ownerships fault. This is a tough economy. People have to make tough decisions about where they spend their money. I'm sure that other teams might be experiencing the same thing.

FWIW, the NFL sets playoff ticket prices.
