Would you be upset seeing another team achieve 16-0

  • Yes, but only if we knocked off those teams in the postseason

I haven't really got a sense if there is any consensus on Patriot nation's feelings on the possibility of the Saints/Colts going 16-0. It's a pretty fascinating issue from a Patriots fan's standpoint.

One the one hand, I like that our 16-0 accomplishment is unique. On the other, I don't want to be like Don Shula and sit around praying no one else will achieve something the 07 Patriots team achieved. It's pathetic. Granted, I would much rather it not be the Colts to do it.

However, if either or both go undefeated, I still think its a slim chance we see a 19-0 team. You could argue that neither the Colts or Saints are that much better than some of the competitors in their conference, Chargers, Vikings for instance (Pats, on a good day...). And to have another team feel the pain of 18-1 (or 16-1, 17-1) would lessen the unique misery Patriot fans have faced in that regard.

Lastly, despite the chaos over the last week, I'm feeling confident about the Patriots' chances in the postseason. If 2007 proved anything, its that the playoffs are a crapshoot, and all it takes is 3-4 well played games. We still have the talent to win the Super Bowl and I think we can do it. If both the Saints and Colts went 16-0, and we had the opportunity to knock both of them off en route to a SB victory, it would be a dream scenario that would put a great deal of the lingering frustration from SB42 to bed. I know its a pipe dream, but its one scenario to keep in mind.

MODS: I screwed up the poll question. If possible, change the question to "would you be OK with another 16-0" team, as it is, its very confusing, sorry...

who cares what they do........they don't have anything to do with 2007, and once the playoffs start, if you do lose, you go home

I could not possibly care less.

Is it me or the poll question is kind of confusing Need an option "Meh, don't care"

If there was a choice for "Meh" I would have selected that.

We Pats fans have seen the top of the 16-0 mountain and it wasn't as good as we thought it would be.

Maybe if the Colts and Saints achieve 16-0 they'll take down that stupid banner in Gillette.

A 4th option of I don't really care because I'm worried about my team would be my choice.

It would bother me less because the 2007 Pats were the trailblazers. They proved it was possible, and they did it in dominating fashion.

The Saints and Colts have far less of a battle, mentally, to overcome to achieve 16-0.

The flip side of this is that the 2007 Pats showed that even the most dominant offense in history and a decent defense couldn't go 19-0. That mental barrier still hasn't been topped and unless it's an 18-0 vs 18-0 Super Bowl, I think the Pats losing and not achieving 19-0 will make it that much harder for another team to do it and not choke.

Just my thoughts.

wording makes no sense

I think they're both going 16 - 0 in the regular season. The Atlanta Braves.........errrr Indy Colts will get bounced in the playoffs per usual. I think the Saints have the best chance at perfection all the way through though the NFC is tough this year with Minnesota, Arizona and Philly all capable of a great game.
If they make it to the SB I'd love to see the Saints do America a huge favor by winning it all and burying that boorish and tired Shula gang once and for all.
Go Saints!!!

BTW guys, your poll question is worded incorrectly. You need to flip the Yes/No. They're coupled with the wrong narratives. Yes belongs on the 1st line with No on the other 2.

I don't really care, The Saints are fun to watch I guess, give them the pressure they might pull it off. Colts I don't think will bother with it.

I want them to both go 16-0 and not win the Super Bowl.

That's a distinction I don't want the Patriots to be unique in, misery loves company.

Yup, wording is wrong...if I could edit the poll Q I would, but I'm not sure that's possible...

:yeahthat::yeahthat::yeahthat:, Colts don't even win a playoff game and Saints don't even make it to the SB.

...Don't think either of them go undefeated (I think the Saints have gotten away with a couple of close ones lately - they reached their peak when beating the Pats - then there's the Colts, they'll do their usual and rest players over the next three weeks so they'll end up losing one of them as well). I wouldn't mind seeing the Colts go undefeated then lose their first playoff game. (Caldwell ain't seen nothing yet like the kind of pressure coming down on him when he's in the playoffs.) Have no issue with the Saints going undefeated - that team/city needs some good news/something to cheer about...

All I know is if Indy goes 16-0, I want the Saints to go 16-0 too.

I'd prefer neither did, but I don't want Indy to have the distinction to themselves.

Actually, I wouldn't mind if the Saints do it because Mercury Morris will no longer be relevant.

If the Saints do it good for them.

The only reason I don't want the Colts to do it is because they're the Colts. If it was the Texans or Chiefs or any other AFC team we don't have a hatred of I would not care.

Best case scenario is the Colts go 18-1, losing in the Superbowl. Then all of their inbred fans can suck it.
