Saints fans not afraid of Patriots

Got a chuckle out of them calling their QB, Breesus.

They think Tates is still playing.

Good for them.

Two very good teams , depends who executes the best that night.

If PATs don't get some healthy key people back I would say Saints have
an added edge. PATs need to be able to rotate top players to stay in it for
60 minutes.

Count on PATs D being on the field for a lot of the time. If they wear out
by the 4thQ that Saints Offense will roll over them.

PATs need Green, Ninkovich and Springs healthy.

Depth will be a big factor on Defense. IMO.

I think the Colts are better. Saints reek of an overrated team that will either lose and crumble or be one and done in the playoffs. I don't see them outlasting elite physical teams like the Vikings

Christ I hope not, the last thing I want is Favre in the Superbowl.

Be careful what you wish for - in 07 that is EXACTLY what I wish would've happened.

imo the saints are the best team in the nfl right now, no reason for them to be scared of the Patriots or anyone else.

There were a handful of smart, respectful Saints fans in that thread, but even the ones who weren't giving the Pats a chance at anything were much more bearable than some of the moronic fans of other teams that I've seen on quite a few other message boards.

I was especially impressed that not one poster mentioned Spygate or spit out the word, "Belicheat". Kudos. That might come after they lose though.

Its on their board, along with the usual Pats fans are the worst in the NFL as if they know so many of us.

Ahhh... Nevermind then. I only read that one thread. I guess it was too much to hope for.

It's amazing how quickly some people forget and some just never knew, but to think they are going to run with ease and Brees' will pick apart the secondary all the while they don't think Tom Brady can light them up for 300 yards and 3-4 TD's is just plain .....D-U-M-B!

I believe this game will be close from beginning to end whoever has last possesion and/or the fewest turnovers will win this game. Do they think that this team doesn't know how to raise it a notch in big, prime-time games on the road under a dome?! DUH!

Actually your fans are just as arrogant as the cowgirl fans and that isn't a good thing. I have yet to meet a realistic NE fan in the last 10 years. I can only hope it isn't that way on here because I really respect your team and want to see a great game.

You and me both. I was rooting for a GB win because I was more confident about the Pats playing against GB in that SB. I didn't remind my Packer fan friends why I was pulling for GB during the game, though. But of course he Favred it up in OT against...well, we all know.

"I'll give us the better RB
Equal in terms of QB
Equal in terms of offensive line
Pats the edge on WR (dept and skill)
Saints on DEF (wow whens the last time i said that)"

I would call that a fair assessment, Brady and Brees are equal THIS season. But then I read DEFENSE, and i laughed

Can a outsider fan from a team besides the pats/saints weigh in on the two defenses. I think the Saints defense is overrated...

Not try to get flamed just providing some information,
Saints Defense is not that great at fundamentals or defending yards, Greg Williams has built them as a offense with Vilma and Sharper as his QB, basically the idea is to cause mistakes and get the ball back.
BB is well aware of this I'm sure

G.W's philosophy will cost a team its defensive ranking in the NFL because your going to give up yardage 50% of the time trying to make plays on the ball. But the Saints defensive ranking that are important to G.W. are these
http://www.wwltv.com/sports/football/Commentary-This-is-November-69613947.html

Interceptions. #1
passes defended. #1
opposing passer rating. #1
defensive touchdowns scored. #1
completion percentage by opposing passer. #1
third down percentage. #1
turnover differential. #4
passing yards surrendered per attempt. #4
red zone defense. #5

Patriots Defense is fundamentally sound and is almost perfect in the gaps, the secondary is above average, but they rank way above the saints D in the NFL. This should make it very hard for the saints to move the ball, even with the 3 headed dragon (bell, bush, thomas) and setup a play action fake, which is one staple of the N.O. offense.

minn hasn't played anyone spectacular so far except Pitt and they lost. Look at their schedule. they will go 15-1.

yeah favre is always a thorn to the pats even when he's losing.

i think it will (and hope) be a good game between 2 of the top 4 teams in the league. i just hope you're not like the colts fans who thought they would just mop up against us.

Why SHOULD Saints FANS be AFRAID of the Patriots? Saints are 10-0 while the 7-3 Patriots have demonstrated a penchant for flat 3rd period performances that have cost them 3 games and is yet not fixed. The Patriots also showed that against an excellent offense in Indiana they were unable to keep up the defensive pressure late in the game and on offense they were unable to run out the clock.

Saints fans should not be afraid.
The Patriots were "flat" in the 3rd quarter against the Colts???

The Saints are looking like an all-time great. I hope the Pats are up to the challenge.
