Doubtful is not out, but by NFL definition it is a 75% chance of
not playing. Questionable is a 50-50 chance.
Rules changed a couple years ago for the 25% 50% 75%
Now doubtful is the palyer is injured and not likely to play
Probably is the player is injured but likely to play
Questionable is could go eitehr way, basically the same 50-50
They also added a requirement to state if practiced or not, and if the practice was complete or limited.
But BB has nothing to explain (as one poster wrongly said) if Mayo plays, nor does he have to explain if a probable player does.
If there was a trend of playing most doubtful players, or not playing most probable players, he would be told to better describe the situation, but the requirement to describe the player's practices does a better job of letting the other team know if the player is likely to play, and if so, at what capacity.
