Reminds me of a player in the early 90s from the U of Pittsburgh that everyone laughed at when Parcells was with the Pats and he drafted a guy coming off a season with so called bad legs and injury prone which was the reason that all the other teams passed over him .... His name was future HOFer Curtis Martin

I hope to god he's more Martin than Klemm.

Listen up. You were not quoted -- so you have no beef. There was no intent of malice behind my words regardless of your interpretation. I've been part of the draft forum for a long time -- and yes, your venom surprises me. It would be wise to end it here.

You may not have quoted Box, but you sure as hell were implying him. Its similar to how DW Toys puts "Simon" or "Mr.S" in his posts.

Your initial post about Barwin is what is at issue here. Maybe you should look at what you wrote.

If he can be an Andruzzi or a Woody type OL I will be happy,We don't need an all-pro OL, just a guy that can hold his man upright for 2 to 4 seconds on a consistent basis until Brady throws

That's a wrap. I can't believe we actually used 4 2nd round draft picks. I could have sworn we would trade 1 or 2 into 2010. Goodnight fellas.

Get over Barwin, Maualuga, Curry whoever your favorite player was, if we didnt draft him than forget him. Only worry about the players on our team.....Michael Johnson(Crosses Fingers):D

Sebastian Vollmer, eh?
What was this guy prior to giving football a go?
The assistant conductor at Berlin Philharmonic?
Sigh...

[in BB I trust]

Bill throwing around that fake smile on ESPN like it was going out of style. Man that was a little awkward.

seems like the OT pick was due to some connections between the pats staff and houston according to BB

Vollmer is a physical freak. 6-8 315 with long arms. He might need development time but he has physical tools. Check it.

Here's some video of Vollmer. Just look at the guy move at his size. That is sick.

UH pro day: Sebastian Vollmer - chron.com - Truveo Video Search

He had an excellent pro day from all reports. 5.1 40, 36.5 vert, 32 reps.

Thank God we have guys like Stephen Neal, what with their impressive football pedigree and all.

And don't get me started on Antonio Gates.

as much as i love the chung pick, i dont like the vollmer pick that much. has had major back surgery in the past, is already about 26 years old and is considered a project by most places.

Well BB did take Darius Butler and Patrick Chung so technically I'm 50% on the 1st day in the mock draft game. That's a much better percentage than usual for me. LOL.

26?? he's 24 and will be 25 in July.. So he's a year older than most.. Woopie..

What is the point of drafting a DT that high only to watch from the sidelines most of the game?

Because 3-4 NTs don't grow on trees. What if Wilfork gets hurt? What if Wilfork want's a Haynesworth contract?

Biggest Surprises of the draft:

Maybin at 12.
Michael Johnson out of the top 2.
Maualuga and Laurinaitus both out of the 1st round.
William Beatty droping to the end of the 2nd round.

The Browns trading down 3 times.
The Pats trading down out of the 1st round.

He's BIG! Quick for his size too; he could end up being one of our favorite picks:p

The Pats could also tromp out Wilfork and Brace on the goal line and make it nearly impossible for teams to run inside. The Pats could ALSO run those two out as part of jumbo 3rd down package where they line up with just 2 DEs. Imagine doing that and having Brace and Wilfork tie up 4 linemen.. opening holes for the LB rushes...

BB is all aobut creating mis-matches.

Laurinatus isn't really a surprise as much as DHB being drafted top 10.

I would say the Raiders drafting Michael Mitchell in the 2nd round is the biggest surprise of the day.

And don't get me started on Antonio Gates.

Neal was a champion wrester in college.
Gates took his team to the elite 8 in basketball.
Either though were drafted in the second round.
All of that however is beside the point.
I was making a crack about the football-worthiness of the name Sebastian Vollmer. Lighten up Jack.

Thank you for the Neal reference... exactly what I was thinking.

At a glance, Vollmer looks like a smart comparison to a combination of both our G's - as far as rating a prospect.
