Gosselin has our top needs as DT, DE, TE and QB and has us picking the top DL on the board. Kruger and Hood are the other defensive linemen he picks after us in the first. I would think that his choice was between Jerry and Maualuga. I can see why some mocksters pick a RB. Beanie Wells and Don Brown are both available at 23.

I would also note that he has both Wood and Unger drafted in the first round.

Trading up is looking better and better.

3 Jackson
5 Curry
9 Jenkins
11 Maybin
12 Raji
14 Davis
15 Matthews
16 Cushing
18 Orapko
19 Ayers
23 Jerry
24 Butler
25 Kruger
26 Maualuga
29 Hood
30 Alphonso Smith

Great minds diggin for crumbs...merge mine.

His take on our needs is even bizarre.

Why would the Pats pick a player who doesn't even remotely fit their system?

When did we switch to a 4-3? I think our tackle needs (remember that Wilfork guy?) usually are limited to guys whose weight begins with a number 3.

Totally baffling to me. Is there an explanation?

You're talking first round right? For the Patriots?

Ill throw up if thats the pick.

Interesting that Gosselin had Mayo ranked as his 19th best player last draft. Does lightning strike twice and we take Ayers who is ranked 19 this year?

If we take Beanie Wells over Hood Colts fans might start a riot. Then again Polian and first round DTs dont seem to go together.

And please Jerry does not fit in the Pats scheme.

Gosselin has a great record of first rounders but this one seems odd.

Gosselin = Guess'lin

Nice analysis of our needs........ BTW...... Sheesh

I do like the rest of his mock. Maybe Jerry will make more sense in the morning.

I am nervous. I hate this mock. But, he was the only person to predict we take Anthony Gonzalez two years ago. So, I have always felt he knew what was up.

Wrong again Gosselin!!!!! You blew it on Mayo last year and you blew it again this year!!! You are one of the better mock dudes out there. But like everyone else, you can't mock the Pats. He's too far ahead of your brainwaves. Nice props on the rest of the mock though.

Beanie Wells is by far the best RB in this draft and a significant upgrade over Addai. I would choose him over Hood if I were drafting fro Indy.

Gosselin has been praised in the past for the accuracy of his mock drafts, so this one seems very strange to me.

The first thing that jumps out is Sanchez lasting until pick no.13. Unless all the buzz around him has just been ESPN/NFLNetwork way of generating a storyline for the draft (very unlikely btw), I don't see how this happens.

14. Vontae Davis- I have to think the Saints would take Cushing, Mathews, or Beanie Wells if Malcolm Jenkins is off the board.

22. Josh Freeman- while it's certainly plausible that the Vikings take him, Childress has some heat on him and I don't see them taking a project QB.

23. Peria Jerry- I don't see anything in Jerry's game that says he's a fit in a 3-4 at all. No scouting report I have read on him as mentioned him as anything other than 4-3 3 technique tackle.

24. Paul Kruger- Draft day shocker if this goes down and Goesslin should get a ton of respect for it. I think it's more likely Kruger goes after round 2 than in round 1.

30. Alphonso Smith- Not as much of a shocker as Kruger, but I don't see many people claiming he's a first rounder. He's short and tested very poorly.

Yeah I am not so sure I think Polian will feel Hood is first round talent. But, who knows.

As for Wells. I never thought he would possibly be there when we pick. And yeah Addai is a wus. I like Moreno more than Wells though.

But, there is no way the Pats draft Jerry.

If I were a Colt fan {man, that sounds weird} I'd be ecstatic with Beanie Wells. Nice inside runner who can cut it outside and will take pressure off of Manning. Addai is injury prone like Maroney. Funny, I thought after year 1 that Maroney and Addai were better picks than Deangelo Williams. Actually I liked Deangelo Williams better than all 3 that year, but of course Carolina got him. Now the fortunes have turned.

If we didn't sign Fred Taylor for depth I'd probably be eager to get one of Moreno,Wells or Donald Brown.

I think I read a recent rumor regarding Peria Jerry that suggested he could only function in a pass rushing role in a 3 technique system.

As for Kruger, I think he is the most NFL ready of the tweener OLB conversion project types. If Belichick is looking for some one to contribute earlyas a 3 down OLB, Kruger is the guy. I'd be very pleased to see the Pats take him in round 2.

With all due respect to Gosselin, a lot of questionable picks.

Paul Kruger a 1st round pick? Sanchez dropping to 13? Beanie Wells going to Indy at 27? Josh Freeman dropping past both NY and TB to 22? Maybe. We'll know in 12 hours or so. I don't think so, personally.

:woohoo:
