Re: OT: KG to miss playoffs
Not a Celts fan but thats awful news. I bet they're celebrating in LA/Cleveland though.
Even though I'm a Pistons fan, I like the Cavs b/c most of my relatives are from the Cleveland area(and with the Browns sucking wind, it gives them a big reason to root even harder for the Cavs and Indians).
This IS the playoffs, and ANYTHING can happen, you know. Remember 3 years ago, the Pistons had the best record with 60+ wins...but nonetheless, they crapped the bed a good one in the playoffs. Should have lost to the baby Cavs in the semis, only to get their tails handed to them by an overachieving Heat team in the ECF. Ditto 2 years ago - after almost blowing it to the baby Bulls in the semis, an overachieving Cavs team just handed it to them in the ECF.
Also - while the Lakers SHOULD beat the Jazz in the 1st round, remember Salt Lake City has been a house of horrors for the Lakers. It wouldn't surprise me if this series goes 7(I'm predicting 6). If anything, they should have sat their starters the other night and given this game to the Jazz - otherwise, they would be playing a soft Hornets team instead.
Pt being that NOTHING's a guarantee in the playoffs. When these teams play over a long series, they end up familiarizing themselves so much that it'll be easier for coaches to make adjustments. Look at the Cavs/Pistons series 3 years ago - after that 1st game where the Pistons were just hitting EVERYTHING, Mike Brown saw something on game tape and figured out how to stop their pick and rolls, perimeter jump shootings, etc. They may have lost the series, but Brown ended up giving Pat Riley a blueprint in the next.
