2009 NFL Mock Draft Game: Discussion/Vote Thread

Nice job with the last two picks. I thought Seattle might go LB but Britton appears to be a quality value at that slot. But would Al Davis actually do the smart thing and take Michael Johnson, and not another RB or WR?!

During the period I was digging in my heels waiting for a call from another GM, I went back and forth.. Looking at Raiders roster and what they have done in the draft the past few years, I felt it was important to go defense. There isn't a Single impact rookie on offense that is going to help this team..

The Raiders just shored up their OL with Wade and Barnes so OL was out of the question.. Their biggest need is on their front 7. Someone opposite of Burgess and some LB's with Speed.. I think I have addressed that

Regarding HICKS..after his poor pro day, I decide no way he's getting picked this high by me.. So I leaned towards a Freak on the defensive side and made my pick..

BTW, from the main forum: apparently Chris Price at WEEI.com is going to feature this mock draft and a few others in the near future.

EXTRA POINTS: Are you a Patriots’ fan who has you posted your mock draft online? Send us a link, and we’ll make sure to promote it in a future edition of “The Hot List.” We’ll put together our Top 5 mocks from New England football fans some time before next month’s draft.

i'd do another with no trades

Its been fun so far.. Of course this would have been a blast if someone traded with me so I could have picked up an extra 3rd or 4th round pick..

I'd be all for it. Let's see how far this one goes before people start to lose interest.

I know Gilbert is listed as a DT, but for the Packers he'll likely play DE in the 3-4 so that would move Everette Brown to OLB.

That's correct. I envision E. Brown at OLB. Pickett will play NT and Gilbert will make for a very athletic 3-4 DE. That's going to be real tough to block that side of the Defensive line. And if KGB comes back healthy, I'm guessing the Pack will try him out at rush OLB on the other side. Packers will go from having little to no pressure in 2008 to a lot of defensive weapons in 2009.

I know they've talked about moving Aaron Kampman to OLB as well.

I sent a PM to Gator Mike, so hopefully he shows up soon. I'm leaving in less than 30 minutes so if he hasn't picked by then I'll post my vote to get things rolling.

ETA:

In case Gator Mike misses the deadline at 6pm my vote for the Bills here is:

Alex Mack, C, Cal

I won't be around tonight, but for those who have picks due tomorrow morning or in the afternoon if you can't be here please PM your choice and I'll make sure it gets posted. That inlcudes:

45) Saints(CanadianPat'sFan) 9am
46) Texans(A.C Vegas) 12pm
47) Seahawks(billdog3484) 3pm
48) Broncos(spann31) 6pm

i guess two votes will have to do. i know i said i wouldn't be here but something told me i'd be needed. lol

Everyone is welcome to vote btw. That includes those w/o a team! bbl

Sorry I missed my turn, everyone. Work got in the way.

FWIW, I probably would have picked Mack, anyway.

Ok I'm going to vote Phil Loadholt OT Oklahoma. The 49ers first pick was Mark Sanchez.

Looks like the 49ers GM has not made his pick in the time frame given and its not fair to the next GM waiting to make their pick. So if anyone's online
can you vote on this so the next GM can make their pick before 12 am. Thanks.

Sorry I just got home from work but I like Mack as the selection as well. I think SF may go with the best corner left either DJ Moore or Alphonso Smith would be my pick in that order.

Larry English has my vote

Brettflax we need to vote for the 49ers pick first and then you can make your selection. We have a few choices in this thread would you like to break the tie?
