Well, kickers and punters are reaping the 'rewards' of having such low numbers. Teams are franchising them this year. Now "Who's your momma?" should strike it rich, and the Andrews situation is going to be interesting to watch with him coming off of injury.

Soooooooo, T.J. Houshmandzadeh gets to play "lets make a deal".

I hope Bill is at least calling his agent for a little talk.

Very interesting. Doubt it will affet the Pats though. TJ would be great opposite Moss, but I don't see it happening - he'll be too pricey.

Andrews is a wild card right now, having had surgery on his ACL and MCL last month. He would have been a significant upgrade at RT, though he seemed like more of a road grader than the Pats' usual style of OL.

BB could convince him to come to a winning atmoshpere......

Housh is going to be wanting big money. There's no way the Pats would want to spend that much............

The Giants on the other hand, may be interested as Plax just might be in a cell? Without plax they need some help.

That and having Tom throwing to him - Of course his production would go down based on Welker and Moss being on the field as well.

He's still going to be expensive - But you never know what motivates, other than Straight Cash, Homey.

Isn't he older than Moss?

It's a wonderful thought to have Housh playing opposite Moss, but honestly, this team has a lot of small holes, and would be better served signing multiple mid-level FA as opposed to a big flasher. If they're going to make a big splash, they should do it on defense IMO.

Housh would be more valuable to a team like the Houston Texans. He and AJ could be like the Boldin/Fitzgerald duo.

Even if Housh came here for the right price (which he won't), there simply wouldn't be enough balls to go around.

It's sort of the same in the NBA, remember when the Houston Rockets had Hakeem, Drexler, Pippen, and Barkley? They weren't happy and they were a team of disfunction.
Now if you have big name players on a team like MJ, Pippen, and Rodman, well, that can work. Every player had a defined role and they all excelled in those roles.

At first I thought the Bengals would franchise Houshmandzadeh, but the more I think about it, it makes sense not to. They'll get a compensatory pick, maybe a 3rd rounder, which isn't a huge difference from what they would get in a tag and trade deal.

National Football Post had an article a few days ago that the franchise amount for punters and kickers (and tight ends also) is so low, that it makes sense to use the tag on a player at one of these positions.

I get the feeling that in the uncapped year the Bengals will be a team that cuts many players, slashing their payroll in an attempt to become more profitable. They cut some veterans just before the season started last year (Willie Anderson, Rudi Johnson, Deltha O'Neal) and I'll be curious to see if they come anywhere close to spending their available money this year.

Housh won't be coming here. He's not helpful to us. We need a REAL WR in the draft (low, sure) and some vets, or resigns. Defense is our biggest need. Depth at O-Line and WR are next in my estimation... Which today is only benefiting from one coffee.

OK - but imagine if House could check that ego (and his wallet) by the door on the way in........can you imagine that offense?? Who do you dare double?? One ball that would always find one guy, wide open........mercy.
