Need some help...Name the Free Agent booms and busts of the Patriots under the BB/Pioli era...

big hype free agents that didnt dissapoint (off the top of my head):

roosevelt colvin, rodney harrison, corey dillon, adalius thomas, randy moss

stallworth did not live up to the hype

Mike Vrabel - Easily the biggest BOOM
Rodney Harrison - 2nd only to Vrabel
Rosie Colvin - Neither a boom nor a bust.
Junior Seau
Stephen Neal - A great O-lineman
Mike Compton - helped to solidify the O-line in the early years
Joe Andruzzi - Another of BB's great signings

Blue = Steal/Boom
Green = Good Signing
Yellow = Decent
Red = BUST
Black = I have no opinion one way or the other

I took most of the names from the Patriots.com website. However, its NOT a complete listing. I was able to tell that immediately by the likes of Wiggins, Ashworth, Small, Charles Johnson and Bert Emanuel not being included. I don't believe they included UDFA on the Pats site, though I have included many.

I also stopped at 2007 because any 2008 FAs haven't really be around long enough for a fully evaluation.

2000:
Aaron Bailey, Eric Bjornson, Joe Andruzzi , Bobby Hamilton, Jon Harris, Antonio Langham, Lance Scott, Otis Smith, Grant Williams, Jermain Wiggins, John Friesz, Antico Dalton, Matt Stevens, Grey Reugemer, Matt Chatham

2001:
Je'rod Cherry, Mike Compton, Mark Edwards, Damon Huard, Larry Izzo, Marty Moore, David Patton, Roman Phifer, Anthony Pleasant, Antwan Smith, Chris Sullivan, Mike Vrabel, Ken Walter, Bryan Cox, Torrance Small, Charles Johnson, Bert Emmanuel, Fred Coleman, Curtis Jackson, Ben Kelly, Terrell Buckley, Riddick Parker,

2002:
Cam Cleeland, Scott Dragos, Christian Fauria, Chris Hayes, Donald Hayes, Rob Kelly, Tom Knight, Rick Lyle, Steve Martin, Ryan Phillips, Daryl Porter, Ratcliff Thomas, Rich Tylski, Victor Green, Bernhard Holsey, Tom Ashworth,
2003:
Chris Akins, Larry Centers, Rosevelt Colvin, Don Davis, Brandon Gorin, Rodney Harrison, Russ Hochstein, Sean McDermott, Ty Poole, Dedric Ward, Mike Cloud, Fred McCrary, JJ Stokes, Aric Morris,

2004:
Josh Miller, Keith Traylor, Rabih Abdullah, Jed Weaver, Kevin Kaspar, Randall Gay, Earthwind Moreland, Hank Poteat

2005:
Monty Beisel, Chad Brown, Tim Dwight, Antuan Edwards, Doug Flutie, Artrell Hawkins, Victor Leyva, Wesley Mallard, Chad Morton, Chad Scott, David Terrell, Mike Wright, Amos Zereoue, Andre' Davis, Bam Childress, Michael Stone, Heath Evans,

2006:
Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gaffney, Martin Gramatica, Tebucky Jones, Mel Mitchell, Todd Sauerbrun, Chad Scott, Junior Seau, Vinny Testaverde, Kelvin Kight,

2007:
Kyle Brady, Eddie Jackson, Tory James, Rashad Moore, Sammy Morris, Kenny Smith, Donte' Stallworth, Kelley Washington, Adalius Thomas, Matt Gutierrez

I am sure that I missed some because Patriots.com doesn't keep track of the rosters beyond who finishes the year on it. So, I've done my best to pull it together from there and Pro-football-reference.com

Neither Corey Dillon nor Randy Moss were free agents when they were acquired by the Patriots.

A fine analysis. Personally, I would upgrade O-T-I-S and Cox and probably Antwan Smith.

And he should downgrade the "punter" to which I will not spell out who signed in 2001 to below a bust!!!

Other than that and what you pointed out that was a very good post.
