Felger: Good night for Pats/Bad for BB

Re: Felger:Good night for Pats Bad for BB

This commentary shows how much we've lowered our expectations this year if we can say that last night's play represented a "good night" for the team. In fact, the offense committed two critical errors (dropped pass and numbskull penalty) at two critical times in the game.

Putting aside the coaching issues (and there were definitely coaching issues), the bottom line is that the margin of error in the NFL is so small, that there's no room for two mistakes like that against a team led by Peyton Manning. In the past, we would not have thought that a game in which they occured represented a "good night for Pats."

Good night for the D? Is he ******ed?

The Colts had the balls for 25 minutes! Not even half the game! Yet they always drove the ball, always scored when they needed to. That's good D? Not a single sack is good D? No pressure whatsoever is good D? Wow. Talk about letting stats mislead you. Yes, 18 in Indy is very good for any defense. Not when the Colts have the ball for just over a quarter's worth.

And, in other unexpected news, the sun rose in the east this morning.

25 min = 1 2/3 quarters.

in fact it shows how much of a high level the pats have performed for 7 + yrs and are still close with the starting QB,1st 2nd and 3rd RB ,starting safety out of the game.Sometimes being realistic also isnt bad.

Re: Felger:Good night for Pats Bad for BB

Ron Borges is back at it. The only improvement in his hate BB campaign, is that he is being subtle...

The Coaches came up with a masterful game-plan; coached the players to an almost mistake-free game; developed Cassel some-more with a combo of runs and passes that produced 340 yards of O and a lead in TOP.... and still lost.

Re: Felger:Good night for Pats Bad for BB

Best way to describe this odd game. The only reason I'm upset is that our division is turning into a 4-team race and wins are at a premium.

Re: Felger:Good night for Pats Bad for BB

I think Mike was spot on - it is what it is, a frustrating loss but one that underscores this team is competitive and improving at the midpoint of the season. In 2001 we lost to the Greatest Show on Turf but in that loss Bill saw a 5-5 team that could compete with anyone. They didn't lose a game after that.

I know Im in the minority, I happy the team did not get blown out.. They showed effort and were competive.. Im excited for the rest of the way now.. Look the season was not going to be the season we all thought for the obvious reasons.. The secondary is a concern, but it was in 05 too.. I think we will be fine and I still the think the afc east is ours to be had.
