Matt Cassel does not present himself as a leader...

He was alright today.

Two bad picks (Deep ball to Randy was atrocious) but was a good game manager the rest of the way.

Gave me more confidence for the future, but you certainly won't see me jumping on the Cassel bandwagon yet. C+ for today.

Game was decent enough for me to remove my current sig.

The Pats put up 30 points and you give Cassel only a C+ and call the pick where his arm was hit a bad pick and yet you claim to be objective. You are too funny.

Anything in the B's is "good" to me. I don't look back at his performance today and think "Wow, that was a good game."

Morris/Faulk were great today. Cassel managed sufficiently today.

You seriously need to get a friggin clue. You don't know a damn thing about football. Stop talking about football unless it's pop warner because you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

Kurt Warner's team put up 35 points last week.

1 TD / 2 INTs / 68% = Alright

Not "good". Good would indicate something you'd like to see week-in-week-out.

Warner also turned the ball over six times in that game which led to Jets TDs almost every time. You should really stop while you are behind, you clearly don't know much about football. Thank God you aren't really a Patriots fan.

He actually had 2 TDs and 3 INTs; nice try though. In addition, he fumbled four times, and lost three of them. The fact that you're trying to draw a comparison between his 6-turnover game and Cassel today proves that you're grasping at straws in a big way.

Again, my point exactly. Your reading comprehension is consistently alarming. The poster above me said if a QB leads a team to 30 points, they had a good game. I gave an example where that is false. Do. You. Follow?

Why do you keep responding to my posts and making the same points I'm making. You're like a slow echo.

Which leads me to my next point, which I'm as guilty of as anyone. We/I have been comparing Cassel to Brady, who is probably the greatest quarterback who has ever played the game. What we/I need to do is compare him to an average NFL quarterback, and compared to them he floats around the median, which isn't bad but isn't great - but there aren't many good QBs in the league anymore anyways. Cassel gives the team a chance to win. Against anyone the Patriots play. He isn't going to pull wins out of his ass like Brady does, but he isn't so bad that he's going to hand games to the opposition, either.

EXACTAMUNDO......Tom Brady is one of a kind as evidenced by his unbelievable pocket presence and ability to move up, slide, take off and all the while know where his targets are all over the field. If anything, we will appreciate TB so much more when he returns next year. Comparing any QB to Tom Brady sis the same as comparing QB's to top 5 QB's to have ever played the game.

If that is the standard we are going to hold Cassel well that is unfair and wrong.

Cassel just put up 30 points today and has won three games in the NFL out of the four he has played - pretty darn good. The whole deal here is to stay alive as he gets experience and learns.

We're 3-1 only 1/2 game out of first......good day for NE today.

Because Cassel played better than Warner. Warner turned the ball over six times and Cassel did it twice. Their performances were completely different. Cassel has a good game and clueless trolls like you want to trash him.

I respond to your posts because I like to toy with clueless morons posing as Patriots fans on this board.

They are the 2008 AFCE Champs.

Correction! That was the 1968 AFLE champions.

Only 40 years in error. Favre retires at the end of the season, and Jets begin again to rebuild with Whatizname?? and Whoseyourmomma?? playing QB. You'd think they would know how after 40 years ... Apparently Not

The point is that you had to go out of your way to pick out one of the only exceptions to that rule that you're likely to find. You're also forgetting that a QB in the Pats offense has vastly different responsibilities than a QB in on the Cards. If the Patriots score 30 points, then I'll consider the QB's day a success. Keep digging yourself in deeper, though, it's worked great for you so far.

What's hilarious is the way that folks like the originator of this ludicrous thread are completely and utterly impervious to facts, incapable of changing their minds upon receipt of data that contradicts their assertions. Quite a sad commentary on human behaviour. We can only hope that such folks live in mommy's basement, never talk to girls in person (phone sex does not count) and won't reproduce.

It's not even the exception to the rule. I don't think they are the same thing. Yeah, the Cards put up over 30 against the Jets, but Warner was directly responsible in contributing to the Jets scoring over 50 points. Cassel did not have any costly mistakes. Neither of his picks turned into points for the 49ers. Unlike Warner, when he got sacked, he protected and held onto the ball. Warner's mistakes cost the Cards the game. Cassel's mistakes didn't cost the Pats a single point. Cassel had two INTs and one wasn't his fault. Warner had 3 INTs and 4 fumbles lost.

Anyone who compares the two performances has no knowledge of football.

That just about describes Wendel.

Cassel to me is still an unknown and i still have no confidence when it comes to beating an elite team. The game against San Diego will tell the story. We will see if he can guide this team to a win over an team thats basically overachieving.

Serious request..... would you kindly list the teams that you think are currently elite?

Yes we all know that unless you win your first game against an "elite" team, the season is over and QB is a pretender...

No matter what happens in any one game it isn't going to prove squat one way or the other.

I recommend everyone do the same.

Kontra, Wendy has vanished from the net. Only to reappear later in the week with another hilarious "guaranteed 80% correct" set of bogus predictions.

I agree. Most decent teams have shown cracks in their armor and there are a few genuinely bad teams. This strength of schedule nonsense based on last year's standings needs to stop. New year and plenty of new teams that don't resemble last year's version. The Fish have a better record than the Bolts. Which is the better team? The Bills have a better record than the Pats, Fish and Bolts. Would you drop a ton of money on the Bills against any of the other teams? The NFC is supposedly better, but the Cowboys were close to losing to the winless Bungals on Sunday. Every week seems to be a crapshoot in game outcomes.
