Matt Cassel does not present himself as a leader...

Hell just watching this interview on CBS with him, he's so....bland and uninspiring, a reflection of his play on the field thus far.

Showed a sideline shot as well...

Moss: "We need TDs, not FGs!"
Cassel: "I know, I know."

I really hope this era ends after today. Hopefully we can get a win despite his play.

How can a guy who hangs his head on the bench ... a guy who doesn't present himself as a confident QB project himself as a leader ... that's inane.

Eli Manning looks like he is 2 pig tails short of putting a dress on, and he ended up winning the super bowl. Presentation doesn't mean much on Sunday.

It's disappointing to see how few people seem to understand anything about leadership. Then again, maybe if they knew what the hell they were talking about, they'd be leaders.

INT and a 3 and out.

What a surprising start!

What decent QB responds "I know, I know."

Sounds like a little kid talking to his angered mother or something.

Also, a point in another thread...

No. It sounds like a guy who is sick and tired of Moss' garbage. WTF is Cassel supposed to do when the O-line is still playing poorly on its pass protections.

What kind of FAN has no concept of the frustration that Cassel might be feeling. *holds the mirror in front of your face so you can see* One that has no friggin concept.

So Tom Brady must suck. I've seen him hang his head plenty of times. Hell, he was sitting there during the SB NOT projecting confidence. Lets toss his arse out the window.

Just as I said...game over and no Wendel to be found.....funny how that works.

The one criticism I now have of Cassel is that he and Moss don't seem to have the rapport of Moss and Brady. You'd always see those two together on the bench, whereas now Moss is over talking to someone else.

That said, I was highly critical of Cassel after the Dolphins game and I still believe that he was a significant contribution to that loss - the Dolphins never would have run that option crap if Brady had been behind center because they knew it would have been a major risk they couldn't take, whereas Cassel couldn't move the ball as well as Brady.

Which leads me to my next point, which I'm as guilty of as anyone. We/I have been comparing Cassel to Brady, who is probably the greatest quarterback who has ever played the game. What we/I need to do is compare him to an average NFL quarterback, and compared to them he floats around the median, which isn't bad but isn't great - but there aren't many good QBs in the league anymore anyways. Cassel gives the team a chance to win. Against anyone the Patriots play. He isn't going to pull wins out of his ass like Brady does, but he isn't so bad that he's going to hand games to the opposition, either.

not good enough...we should start O'Connell...then maybe I'll take my ADD meds

He was alright today.

Two bad picks (Deep ball to Randy was atrocious) but was a good game manager the rest of the way.

Gave me more confidence for the future, but you certainly won't see me jumping on the Cassel bandwagon yet. C+ for today.

Game was decent enough for me to remove my current sig.

Good idea. We do need to compare Cassel to the average QB...so far, IMO, Cassel has performed well for a new QB.

Only time will tell...

He was better than a C+, and Brady has thrown worse picks than the two Cassel threw today. The first was hardly his fault, and the second was your standard pick when throwing up a prayer; Brady has thrown many of those in his career, too.

Holy cow. A well thought out post expressing come concern over Cassel's play at times. For all you bashers (or idiots, depending on who you are), THIS is how you raise questions and spark intelligent discussion.

Nice post

Anything in the B's is "good" to me. I don't look back at his performance today and think "Wow, that was a good game."

Morris/Faulk were great today. Cassel managed sufficiently today.

WTF? We scored 30 points today, what the hell do you guys want from him? He's starting the third game of his career, of course he's not going to fully have his swagger yet. Sometimes the people on this forum just outright astound me. Every QB isn't Tom Brady, and the sooner you guys figure it out, the sooner you might be able to move on with your lives and enjoy a season of football.

the basic problem is they look at ONE isolated play and extrapolate THAT over a player's entire game performance...it's just ridiculous
