Jets have finally made the transition to Favre

so after week 2 Cassel was the savior now he is a scrub, make up your mind
True. People seem to be adopting the ESPN mentallity. You are the way you played your last game, and the way you played your last game is the way you will play every game for the rest of the year.

Before today the Cardinals were supposedly the best team in the NFC West, and a team that was supposed to dominate the Jets. Now all of a sudden they suck? lol.

Warner has a fumbling problem but the he hadn't seen this kind of pressure from a defense this year until today... give credit to the Jets' pass rush.

People here are funny, making fun of the Cardinals.

You do realize we got demolished by the Dolphins at home. The same Dolphins that were demolished by the Cardinals.

On a related note, Green Bay might regret dumping Favre to the Jets, even with his interceptions. ESPN is reporting Aaron Rodgers might have a separated shoulder from the loss today.

Rodgers may have a stronger arm than Favre right now, but I do not see him challenging the consecutive game streak.

Are you deliberately being a troll?

Dolphins game was a fluke. Pats go 10-3 rest of the season.

=====================================================

The pick he threw was not even really a pick, when you consider that AZ jumped off sides and Favre knew this and figured he had a free play, and thats why he threw the pass. Of course the refs did not call offsides and thus the int.

...but a day like today can go a long way to building team chemistry, which is something the Jets need.

If that was indeed the case (as one of the announcers thought), it is understandable but shouldn't the QB see the flag or hear the whistle before taking a risky chance? :confused2:

Agree with you on the second one. Better to go into the bye week under the assumption that they have found the much needed chemistry. And yeah, more happy that the QB had a record day.

jets looked great, no question. i dont think anyone thought they would continue to be as bad as they were v. san diego and us. i think that we should just worry about correcting our QB play and our D

If there is any place in the world that has no right at all to criticize the media for overinflating the importance of the latest game at the expense of rational analysis, it's this message board.

How many weeks did it take for Favre to become comfortable with the jets offense and their receivers?

How long have we posted it would take for Cassel to become comfortable? or a veteran we brought in? Why uis our situation so different? Is our offense so much harder to learn? Are our receivers so much weaker? Is Favre so great?

Farve and the Jets will not win anything.

Jets fans don't deserve to win anything. Cheering when their own QB gets hurt, calling for someone to take out Brady's knee, bullying young ladies to take off their tops at the game.

The karma Gods hate the Jets, and their fans.

Maybe, just maybe Brett Favre is a far better QB than every single other 'scrap heap' vet that in the real universe could have been brought in. Also, Favre's strengths are as an improvisor who does not necessarily adhere to a 'system'. Such qualities are anathema to the Patriots culture.

The best team in the NFC West? Well that is a damning praise. Any team in the AFC East could at least have a chance to win the NFC West. I still think the Cards are the best team in the NFC West and they might win the division with a 7-9 or an 8-8 record.

I do give the Jets credit for the pass rush, but I also give them credit for letting Warner to pass for almost 500 yards anyway. The Jets inability to put away the Cards should be just as disconcerning as their pass rush in the second quarter. One stop of the Cards' offense in the second half would have iced the game and the Jets couldn't do it.

I'm not convince that Favre is truly comfortable in the Jets offense. The Cards applied no pressure on Favre and gaping holes in the secondary. A QB like Favre with no pressure on him and his WRs wide open down the field can pick apart a defense even if he doesn't know the offense.

I do agree with you about Cassel. Closer to him, Brady sucked his first two starts for the Pats. Cassel is going into his third start this upcoming Sunday. Shouldn't we at least give Brady as long as Brady to get acclimated to the offense?

as per tom jackson and various other media outlets. i guess he did play well today and throw 6 tds but thats a sample of the weekly jumping the gun conclusions we always have. already more than one show threw out playoffs for the jets although they do have a very favorable schedule after the bye.

....fer crissakes! The Favre idolizing has to stop! It's making me sick! Arizona (Kurt Warner, actually) had FIVE turnovers (one of 'em a pick-6) in their own territory that all lead to TD's ...... it's like he was handing the game to them.

My thoughts exactly. Well said.

Favre is the kinda guy who thrives on improvising. The Cards left WRs wide open and gave him time to throw to receivers beyond their 1st break. Even though I believe Favre is over ballwashed by the media, he still is a top one third starting QB and a pathetic pass D gets brutally exploited by top echelon QBs.

I believe we are on week 8 of that transition and it appears rather than Brett becoming comfortable with the JETS offense the JETS offense has morphed into the Brett offense. Which is what many of us predicted would happen. That kind of transition is not an option here where we run what has become a well established and successful mature system that will return a HOF QB next season. Mangini couldn't really mount a valid argument for maintaining his based on past performance or personnel, not to mention the pressure in NY/NJ to just win now.

We are on week 4 of the transition from a player who knows that system to one with sufficient experience to run it efficiently. And we are 2-1 in the process only because our defense uncharacteristically totally collapsed against Miami. I'm not sure what the problem is with many of you people short of you're entrenched in preconceived opinions that you will cling to irrespective of evidence to the contrary and results.

The last time we saw an offense like Brett or that turnover happy dinosaur he matched up against yesterday runs win it all was the 90's. Since then defense and balanced ball control offense that limits mistakes and takes what it's given and stresses team execution has won 8 championships including this team making it to 4 and winning 3 - the only one we missed on being when our pass first Moss centric offense was stopped cold with Brady at the helm...by another team playing conservative offense and exceptional defense. Tampa, Baltimore, Pittsburg, even Indy had to adapt to that reality to win.

While teams like Dallas, Cincy, SD, Indy in it's heyday, and a host of others fronted by flashy QB performance have struggled to even sniff a shot of advancing past the one and done stage of the second season. Because they make mistakes again and again including believing that their QB can always salvage the day. We found out the hard way las February even Brady can't always do that... Well coached teams win championships when sufficiently talented players execute solid game plans born of sound systems. Teams who rely on overhyped talent performing to expectations are more often than not sadly disappointed and left to wonder WTF just happened...

56 Points on something like 373 yards of offense, time of possession 31 minutes for Az.. 29 for NYJ.. the equalizer is 6 turnovers by AZ.. they should have scored 56 points after all those turnovers and the piss poor defense of the Cardinals..
