It's embarassing to see so many over the top threads here right now, not to mention see the Gilette crowd yesterday boo their own team in between sipping lattes and chatting on their cell phones. The bandwagon is at a rest stop; for those individuals please do everyone a favor and stop calling yourselves Patriot fans.

Here is a little perspective. One upon a time, people didn't think the Patriots were invincible, the team had weaknesses, and every game was exciting to watch because there was a legitimate chance we could lose. The sentence I just wrote applies to every championship season we have had. Our first trophy we had an unknown QB with a group of old ragtag castoffs. In the second and third trophy seasons we faced devastating injuries, major controversies in cutting players, and also faced some devastating losses.

The Patriots were never about a fancy aerial attack; our greatest success has always come from being hard hitting, tough, and making the key plays to win games. This kind of play is boring to most football fans and the media, but it's the Patriot Way. I actually think that the Patriot emphasis on the air attack the past 3 years has made the fanbase and defense a little soft. Some fans are starting to remind me of Colts or Rams fans who fell in love with the passing attack and then cried that their team should have won. In a salary cap league, only tools and arrogant asses demand that their team wins and then throw fits when they don't.

I dont think its over reacting , I think alot of us including myself were overconfident that a team that looked so bad against Arizona would come into our building and kick us to the curb and punch us in the mouth..

I think it was a wake up call for alot of us that this is not our Tom Brady Patriots, and its going to take 110 percent every week to be succesful. Like i said , I wont go down the schedule anymore this yr and say " oh this is a win".. But Im not going down the schedule either and say" oh this is a loss"...

Remember when we cut Milloy and then got demolished by the Bills right after? Remember all those 'end of the world' cries back then after that game? How stupid and childish did those fans feel later on?

I'm with you, brother. People have forgotten what it was like to NOT win every regular season game. If they leave because of it, all the better for us.

And I also suggest a merge http://www.patsfans.com/new-england-patriots/messageboard/10/136173-hopefully.html

You don't think it's an over-reaction to get upset when your team wins 21 of its last 22 games? Because your team is 2-1 and not 3-0?

I think that is the defination of over-reacting.

There is one major difference in this current situation and the one

concerning Lawyer Milloy. There was a young quarterback called Tom

Brady back then who was available to rally the troops.

This couldn't have been posted in one of the other dozen threads saying the exact same thing? Really?

Its more being ticked off... Its just a shock to see Tony Soprano out coach Bill Belichick.. Gaba GOO

Im still on the bandwagon... wats the next stop, 49's... I'm gonna ride this train until week 16 or anything after... 1 or 5 or 10 losses doesn't change the way i feel about this team... 1 lose after 20+ regular season wins, and everybody is goin crazy... i can't believe it, our own stadium (which i haven't been to yet) booin our team and we call ourselves the classy bunch... Disappointed in the fans that left and or booed... I'm still wearin my Pats jersey here at work and wearin it proudly (even though i wanna wrap my hands around my co-workers neck, dolphins fan)...

I rooted for the Pats the entirety of the game but to come away with anything but a negative feeling is impossible. You don't want the fans to boo...Well, what exactly were they supposed to cheer for? The Patriots didn't have a lot of commendable plays out there. Were we supposed to cheer everytime Ronnie Brown ran untouched?

There's being a fan and there's being delusional. The Pats gave a piss-poor effort out there and got smacked by one of the lowly teams in the division. I hope the Pats make the Playoffs this year. Nothing could question my fanhood. But I will NOT support the type of game show they put on yesterday.

Look, whenever your team plays sucky like they did yesterday....we have a right to get pissed. I guarantee you that BB is also pissed at alot of players who played like sh*t yesterday. Just cause we're pissed doesn't give you a right to tell us to jump off the Bandwagon! I never hopped on the brady bandwagon....born and raised in New England.

VERY true..it's also a wake up call to fans who really take this team for granted..and just think they are invincible..it's a LOT of hard work and this beat down I HOPE knocks some sense into a lot of the fairweather fans, bandwagoners and also some of the so called pink Patriot fans. Appreciate the team you have and do NOT take it for granted...

I understand where ur coming from but its only one game... Wat can u expect for Matt really... He still a youngin in the game... Maybe this is not his style of play even though he's been in the system for 3 years... The only thing i lacked to see was will... Take a breather man, the Pats can't always win games espically wit Matt behind the center... Whatever happen to, in Bill we trust...

Well said, yesterday was a p-poor team effort, they all played terribly, BB and his staff were outcoached.. there is a tommorrow... the streak had to end, as much as I would have liked to have seen them smack Joey Porter in the mouth they did not.. they will move on.. as they did in the past..

And many have the right to call you spoiled brats...

1. In any of our trophy seasons, no one had a clue we would win the championship that year until the final whistle of the final game. It is ridiculous that people now expect them to win every match in a blowout and then throw a fit when it doesn't happen. Any given Sunday any team can win, we forget this.

2. Fans have every right to be mad at poor play from yesterday, but look at the threads in this forum, talking about the most insane reactionary things. There is a difference between being disappointed at the performance, and going off into hyperbole.

3. The biggest problem the past few years is that ticket prices have skyrocketed, such that extremely spoiled and entitled fans have now become the majority.

If the Pats go 10-6, with a few huge blowout losses on the season, I would say it's a pretty good season. From the looks of the threads here and the crowd booing yesterday, it seems like some people would be crying about the end of the world.

I also hope it knocks some sense into the Patriots coaching staff. The Pats faced the same play 6 times and got burned 3 times for TDs. That is something the coaching staff needs to take a long, hard look at.

The word bandwagon gets thrown around way, way too much on this message board.

Being a true fan doesn't mean you have to be satisfied after such a hideous loss. Some of you are overreacting just as much as the people who think that yesterday means we're the worst team in the league.

I completely agree with you, Mav. In a wierd way, I think we as a fanbase sort of needed this loss to bring us back down to Earth. After last year, it seemed like winning was a foregone conclusion to us. I'm just shocked to see the amount of people who are taking this loss like their parents just died in a tragic car accident.
