It's embarassing to see so many over the top threads here right now, not to mention see the Gilette crowd yesterday boo their own team in between sipping lattes and chatting on their cell phones. The bandwagon is at a rest stop; for those individuals please do everyone a favor and stop calling yourselves Patriot fans.
Here is a little perspective. One upon a time, people didn't think the Patriots were invincible, the team had weaknesses, and every game was exciting to watch because there was a legitimate chance we could lose. The sentence I just wrote applies to every championship season we have had. Our first trophy we had an unknown QB with a group of old ragtag castoffs. In the second and third trophy seasons we faced devastating injuries, major controversies in cutting players, and also faced some devastating losses.
The Patriots were never about a fancy aerial attack; our greatest success has always come from being hard hitting, tough, and making the key plays to win games. This kind of play is boring to most football fans and the media, but it's the Patriot Way. I actually think that the Patriot emphasis on the air attack the past 3 years has made the fanbase and defense a little soft. Some fans are starting to remind me of Colts or Rams fans who fell in love with the passing attack and then cried that their team should have won. In a salary cap league, only tools and arrogant asses demand that their team wins and then throw fits when they don't.
