It's a shame that Kurt Warner won the starting job in Arizona. In my opinion, he would be a perfect fit here for this year and beyond. He has been a leader of some of the greatest offensive teams of all time. Yes, he is older, but he is absolutely, the best person besides Brady to lead this offense.

I wonder (1) if he could become available and (2) what it would take to procure his services.

Obviously, he's starting in Arizona, but does that team expect to go with him the entire season? If they were to lose some games in the upcoming weeks, could he become available.

Trust me dude, you need to run NOW!!

They're coming for you with pitchforks and torches as we speak.

i doubt that. clearly i dont believe anything will materialize with Warner, it was just a thought I had. He's a smart man, with the ability to find open men, plus has shown the ability to lead. people can say what they want. he would be a perfect fit, no question.

That division is going to be up for grabs all season long and even if Warner sucks, they don't trust Leinart any more than Warner. They'd just platoon the two in the same game.

Count me out for Warner. He can go back to bagging groceries before his social security kicks in.

I'm not a big Warner fan. If he were as good as you want to say he is, he wouldnt be struggling to get on the field for the last 5 years.
There is something about Warner, whether its decision making, or holding the ball too long (huge prob when he was with the Giants) or just being a bad teammate, but he has fallen a long, long way. I don't like bringing 'people problems' to the team unless there is a clear need for the level of talent, and I don't see a big wealth of talent either.

If I were going to try to get someone's starter, why would I go after Warner? I'd take Peyton over him any day, or Romo. I'd also prefer Rothliesberger to Warner.

If you are fantasizing about QBs who are currently starting for other teams, why limit yourself to Warner?

I mention Warner because he is one QB who could become available. Don't compare, or consider, Warner as an untouchable. Anyone who would compare him to Romo, Rothlesberger, or Manning is a fool, and I certainly am not. He is older and the Cardinals have a young QB that I assume they think highly of. As a GM, you have to search all options, and he is just one of the many players I would research and try to find out his availability. Any GM who does not do their due dilligence is a GM I do not want.

They think so highly of that young QB they started Warner.

- Warner against the SF defense: 19/30 197 yds, 1 TD
- Cassel against the KC defense: 13/18 152 yds, 1 TD

I'll take Cassel thank you.

warner needs the great wall of china to protect him and our o line doesnt work that way. he will be out in 1 quarter of playing for the pats.

do you seriously judge the ability of a QB based on 1 game. I mean come on.

too many people trashing Warner, I think he's a great QB

Yup, that's why he's playing musical chairs with a failed first rounder he was hired to develop - until he gets hurt and they swap places... He's been worthless since we undressed him in New Orleans. He's an oft injured, scatter armed, has been with an overblown ego, an excuse maker and a lousy teamate.

i have name which might interest some...charlie batch .

As the resident Arizona Cardinals season ticket holder on the board, I would greatly welcome Warner to the Pats for this season. He's a pro. He does have a tendency to hold onto the ball too long, which would be a problem with our line, but still, in terms of a second-tier QB out there we could do a whole lot worse. I'm anxious to see how Cassel does, but if you gave me Kurt Warner right now I'd need some convincing to not start him within a few weeks.

That said, I agree with those who say he's as untouchable as Tony Romo or Ben Roethlesberger. He's the starting QB for a team that has playoff aspirations. He'll will surely be in foxborough this year, as a starting QB fighting for the playoffs -- on December 21 for the opponents.

i'm assuming you only speak highly of your own team and discredit others.. you’re an idiot

Alright, I got all excited for a minute...

when I saw the title of this thread I thought you were going to tell us about how Warner stepped in for Trent Green and led the Rams to a SB victory...
