Its threads like this that leave me shaking my head!
Brady is only 30 and has many fine years of play left. To not understand this is to expose your lack of understanding of football and the reality of the situation.
When people point out that Farve and Trent Green played at a high level, the thread originator argues that people are in denial and that its not too soon to start thinking about an eventual replacement.
Remeber that we drafted a QB in the 3rd round of this years draft. Or is this too soon for you? Its like you don't follow what the team is doing but have all these opinions about the them, while really knowing nothing about any of it. Why bother?
Its pathetic!

No, because the whole idea is as stupid now as it was when this idiotic thread was started.

I'm guessing Brady's eventual replacement is now transitioning from junior high school to high school.

You genuinely see Brady playing for the Patriots at 38/39 years old?

brady should have 4 or 5 solid years left at least

All I'm saying is that he'll be 31 next season. Beginning to think about who will replace him is very reasonable.
I know BB values consistent greatness over a prolonged period of time; the team will not continue its dynasty if there's a huge dropoff as Brady ages.

Why have you written off O'Connell already?

Belichick is secretly bring this guy in for a replacement since Brady will be retiring next week

Not a chance, 35-36 and he's out. Running for office in CA by 40-41, In Washington DC as a CA Senator by 44-48 and CEO of Tom Brady Enterprises 52-56.

Retires with 5 Super Bowls and leads every ballot as the greatest QB of all time, First Ballot HOF'r in 2017 with Introduction by Bill Belichick.

Him and Montana do the Coin Toss in Super Bowl 52 where The Patriots beat the SF 49'ers by 20 to win their 7th Super Bowl.

Colts fans cry and Chargers fans bang their heads against a wall as a generation of Patriot Beat Downs continue.

The thread was made well before the draft

And people in this thread told me that we'd never draft a quarterback for 5 more years

I was right it seems?

He's said he wants to, of course that's presuming he doesn't get tired of playing for fans with a football IQ like Gicks...

No genius, we never said they wouldn't draft a QB, just that they wouldn't draft for Brady's replacement yet. O'Connell isn't his replacement - he's Cassel's replacement at #2 for 2009 - 2011... It's they guy who replaces O'Connell who will be drafted to be Brady's replacement, or the guy who bumps that guy off the roster...

No, no one ever said we would not draft a QB for 5 years. We draft (or sign an UDFA) QB almost every year. How long had you been following the Pats? Since last Tuesday?

Anyway. O'Connell is Brady's backup, not his replacement.

We will likely not draft Brady's replacement for 5 years.

I missed this thread in Jan. Kinda wishing I missed it again. :banned:

I just had to quote this one more time. This is by far the funniest thing i've ever read on this board.

The question really is, what team are you really a fan of?

I agree.

I'm awesome at Soul Caliber, so i think I'll head out and take on some Ninja's.

Better yet, I'm probably the best in the US at EA SPORTS NASCAR - So I think I'll give it a go with Randy's team.

or, my Favorite! I'm like real real real good at Tiger Woods 2008, so I'm going to..................ya, stupid is as stupid does.
