Curt Bury has spent only two years as the liaison between the statistics and the press at the State Tournament, but you can bet he'll be missed.
The 75-year-old Bury, who recently had replacement surgery on both knees, will be moving into a Maryland assisted living facility with Judy, his wife of 52 years.

Bury, who has been the Jefferson High baseball statistician since 1999, developed a computer program for football statistics in 1983 and got to try it out with the New England Patriots.
"They bought it for $1,000 with the provision that I show up at every game and stand behind the person who was actually going to key it into the computer," Bury said. "There were bugs with my program, just like anything else.
"I did that for five years. I got free access to the Patriot games, all the clam chowder I can eat. Even went down to the 1985 Super Bowl against the Bears.
"My job was bouncer. I stood outside the Patriots clubhouse and checked credentials of people who wanted to come in and get a free ticket."
