The only player listed that would improve the roster IMHO is Rosie. His experience is much more valuable than any of the others' ability.

Assuming he is healthy and stays that way, that is.

Want someone who can step right in to the system?? Even given his age, Rosie would a no-brainer if he's 100% recovered. I think he could thrive again under BB, IF he has any desire to do so. Only a couple of years ago he was one of our top three defensive leaders.

But really he has nothing left to prove. But maybe he misses the glory days and will train like a mofo in the offseason.

Given the recent rash of injuries, BB looks to be going quantity over quality--the exact opposite of what I was hoping for in the offseason. :(

Bing in Colvin as a pass rush specialist.
Passing situations - turn him the f**k loose.
Nice and simple.
I like that option better than the TBC option.

With all due respect, who the F#$@%$ is voting for Rosey Colvin in this poll? Holy CRAP. LOL.

Did anyone happen to watch Colvin play last year?

I chose Pisa because I think his speed will help more on special teams. I have read that given the elimination of the wedge rule fast linebacker types will be in even greater demand. Don't get me worng, I chose Pisa, but I think he will be more valaubale to another team and is likely to sign elsewhere. Pisa will be on someone's roster when training camp opens.

If the Pats get bit by the injury bug and or the young guys end up stinking, then I think Rosie and or Willie will be on the street and available for a mid season signing.

I did. Why? Do you disagree?

I do. I think Roosevelt Colvin showed rust for at least the last few years and the effects of his injury and time off were evident last season. He is so wildly done I can't believe they didn't switch out his number for a fork logo in 2008. I'm stunned anyone voted for him, let alone more people than any other guy. I will concede, however, that the list is of available players, many of whom are available for a reason.

Due to his hip injury, Rosevelt Colvin never became the dominant

player for the Patriots that he was with the Bears.

When all the free agent signings began, I wanted Brooks, Taylor, Taylor and Galloway. We've got 2/3 of the veterans who've already signed. Now it's time to go get the last one remaining. I preferred J. Taylor to Brooks because he's familiar with the system and has been successful in it, but Brooks is an old dog who's capable of learning new tricks.

Derek Brooks = Football player
I dont know what his role would be, how much he would play, whether he is even a full time player anymore, etc. But I know that Bill Belichick would figure out a way to take advantage of what he does well, cover what he doesn't, and get something out of him.
The price, of course is the trick, because this scenario is great at the vet minimum, but not so great if we sacrifice cap space to do it.

There are a very few NFL players that can play on any team in any system and have a role, and even fewer that are worth having one year later than when they are essentially done. Seau is one. Brooks is another.

I dont.
If Colvin was that valuable why was he so invisible last year? Another year wont make him more agile.

My question would be - Who the freak voted for Rocky Boiman? - Who the fruk is Boiman and what has he done?

How about Antwan Peek formally of the Brown? He is an experienced pass-rushing OLB with experience in the 3-4, having played under RC last year. He was IR'd and then released by Mangini.

Hard to be visible when you only played in four games...and was on the market as a free agent for the first 12.

I'm sort of surprised at the amount of interest in Colvin.

Colvin retired a year ago. While he didn't file his papers, he also didn't make any secret that he was done working out. How did he stay in shape? Oh, you know, working around the house, running up and down stairs after the kids, he said when he came back.

Last year, he had seven tackles in four games. And they weren't big memorable tackles, either.

I'd much rather have Crable and Redd than Colvin at this stage.
