I think on opening day 2008, Gaffney is the #3 reciever.

You asked "Who do you think that will be?" and the guy answered you.Why do you think this?
I personally don't think we should cut a guy whose size and style is similar to Moss, Stallworth, & Washington. Not that Caldwell's size and style is anything like those guys.I personally think Reche's size and style is too similar to Moss, Stallworth, & Washington to justify keeping him.

At this point, I doubt that both make the team. But chances are one of them makes it.

My money is on Jabar. I think he is more of the prototypical Pats WR -- almost a poor man's Deion Branch.
Plus, from everything I've read he has a great personality and is well-liked in the locker room.
As far as Reche, I just think Caldwell gets lost in the numbers game. He was serviceable, but that's about it. I for one won't be sad to see he's gone.
There is no way in hell Welker isn't the slot WR.
I'm no Reche hater, as he was a very valuable addition last year. He did have a few critical drops, but let's face it, the guy has never been more than a 3rd stringer since drafted.
That being said, Gaffney is my binky. Putting aside his great playoff production, he show flashes of immense talent as a possession receiver.
I think he has a MUCH greater upside than Caldwell, and unlike Reche seemed to thrive under the pressure of the playoff environment.
That end-zone catch against the Colts was the nail in Reche's coffin as far as I'm concerned.:rocker:
Jabar... playoff hero. Reche... dropped a big pass.
Too bad we can't trade either of them because as good WRs with low salaries they'd probably be worth something to some team at the end of training camp should we not have any injuries (knock on wood)
Oh, wait! We can trade them!
... and the rich get richer
Reche had one of the biggest (and best) catches in Patriot playoff history to setup the game winning FG in San Diego
Does someone want to tell me what Kelley Washington has done in his career to, in some peoples opinions solidify him as a WR on the roster while Reche gets cut even after having a 61 catch season?
