WTF is going on!!
So...Galloway was NOT subject to waivers as I undesrtand it but would have been if released POST 4 PM....and even though Mathews was released early HE IS subject to waivers...because he's not a vested vet...According to the Pats' twitter.
The intrigue continues...Matthews is a non-vested veteran, so he is subject to waivers today, unlike Banta-Cain. After today, all veterans are subject to waivers.
We've traded a 3rd for the Oakland Raiders.

Correct. Every player is subject to waivers from the trade deadline until the new league year. Before that, only players with less than 4 accrued seasons (Matthews has 2) are subject to waivers.
If Banta-Cain or Galloway were released after today, then they would have been subject to waivers and any team could have claimed them before the Pats could get them back.
please clarify
Pretty confident Banta Cain will be back on this roster..
Another draft pick thrown away on a useless player.
They are not getting Galloway back, he signed with the Bucs.
