I have a feeling Chiefs will crush Indy, and that would mean them coming to our house in Round 2. (Unless 6th seed pulls out an upset)
#2 seed is the best option. We can win at Denver. I know we can. Think about it... let Denver/KC slug it out in Round 2. Knowing Peyton he might even choke and lose. And then the AFC Championship would be in New England regardless as long as we take care of business.
I like that scenario.
anyone who doesn't want the #1 seed in the playoffs is on crack. All playoff games at home where brady is unbelievable? or go on the road where the pats struggle...hmmm

To be fair, we have been pretty horrible at home in the playoffs lately.

i can't believe the number of people here who like the idea of the pats going on the road in the playoffs...if they were healthy..i would have no issues with this
And remember...never won a SB not being #1 or #2 seed

Hi Mike, I've seen teams get plagued with injuries before but not ever like the Patriots have been especially with the season ending variety to starters. With that in mind should we not be more lenient and expect less of this team ? Should we not resign ourselves to a first/second round exit in the playoffs ? We cannot ask the backups and third man up to live up expectations we have for the full healthy roster

Nicolas, I look at it differently. The NFL is a moving target from week to week. The picture is ever-changing. So let's say we lower the expectations, and then all of a sudden Peyton Manning goes out and breaks his leg this week, do we raise those expectations all of a sudden? That's why I think the best approach is to go week by week, you hope your team survives and advances, and then you assess the next week based on what the picture looks like. I've noticed this as a trend in recent years. It seems like we often want to write the ending to the story while it's going on. I'm not quite sure why our general media/football culture is like that. We should all enjoy the journey more.

rather go on the road where they struggle BIG time this year? Take my chances at home...
This team isn't built to win on road in the playoffs this year...injuries being the major issue

The problem is the #2 seed is probably out of play at this point. Denver is not going to lose to Houston or Oakland. Cincy probably doesn't lose either (pit, min, bal). With that one Pats loss drops Pats to 3 seed
