    I heard on ESPN radio that an unnamed or source player on the Pats said that at halftime Brady went to McDaniels and asked about adjustments on the protection and some adjustments in the timing, count. The player said that Josh turned to Brady, rather pissed off and said "No, we have a plan, the plan is good, we are not changing it". Brady did not get pissed or start anything but according the player, Brady lhad stunned look on his face - he looked concerned with the response and lack of change to the plan. The player said that Josh and Tom work great together and are always on the same page and work great as a team, but in this situation Josh wanted to hear nothing.

    Now, if this is true and McDaniels was that arrogant and stubborn, it sucks! Tom Brady is the franchise, the best QB/player in the sport and he is looking for some coaching - adjustments and McDaniels is not willing to work on it! Tom was getting his butt kicked all over the place. He takes less money to be on this team and I think he deserves the right to be part of changing the plan when he is getting his arse kicked all over the place.

    I really hope this is just some bogus crap story that has not validatity, but I wanted some thoughts...

    I would say its time for JM to start interviewing for other positions then.

    Everyone in the WORLD could see that the PLAN was NOT good.

    Screw an OC, just let Brady run the offense.

    Did the unnamed source say whether McDaniels twisted his mustache rakishly with his pinkie when he said this?

    This is soo disturbing. I cant fathom it. Gilbride & Spagnolo vs McDaniels and Dean Pees... brand new coordinators to the Giants.. sucks

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    Forget the unnamed sources. Josh had a lousy gameplan and didn't adjust at halftime. There is absolutely ZERO excuse for the best offense in the history of football to be held to 14 points.

    It was inexcusable that we didn't hand the ball to Brady in the second half and put him in the shotgun and the no-huddle.

    ==========================================================
    However, the offense did put us in the lead with 3 minutes to go in the game. The special teams VENTRONE! made Eli start at his own 17.

    In the end, the defense had to stop Eli from scoring in 3 minutes from 83 yards out. They failed to step up. That was a simple gut check, and the Giants wanted the victory more.
    =========================================================

    Let's have some perspective. This team was undefeated in the regular season, and is the AFC champion. If were to have the same team next year, we would be the favorite to go to the Super Bowl and win. The problem, if there is a problem, is that we have several free agents that need to be re-signed or replaced, and a couple of options to consider. We will be getting Morris and Colvin back, but in the end, a couple of players will be on the IR by year-end, so depth is still key.

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    You know, I normally would not post a rumor or 'source' said yada yada yada on this board, but.......in this case it seems that they made NO ADJUSTMENTS so why not think this just might be true or true to some extent? When do you ever see the Pats make little to no improvements on what ailed them in the first half? Brady is 100-27 all time in the NFL and the Best QB in the modern era going in a game with a lead at the half and also has just as many 4th Qtr comebacks as loses. I would say he knows something about adjustments and has benefited from some great coaching and changes to game plans throughout the course of a game. However, in SB 42, the Pats offense in the first half was the same in the second half - did anyone see the adjustments on protection or timing? I didn't see it! Why not think McDaniels was not stubborn with the plan and wanted to stick with it waiting for it to work somehow?

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    Trust your gut instinct. There was really nothing wrong with the game plan either. Other than not activating a street FA TE, who would have likely blown as bad as the other two did. There was no helping this over rated Oline Sunday. They just rolled over and pee'd against a superior DL who played with the intensity of a champion. And if some player even uttered crap to deflect the blame game, that's an indictment on him.

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    I agree this OL has become moderately overrated and owes a large amount of its success to Brady, but they have been very effective this season. You're letting McD off the hook here, it's his job to make the adjustments to work around the sieve-like OL. They basically said "F it, it's either working or it's not" for a decent portion of the game.

    Ultimately, that's what happened, though it worked when it needed too. Unfortunately, the D came back and blew every chance they had to end the game.

    I think San Diego, Jax, Colts are very close to the Pats level right now. i didnt really think that before the SB (denial) but now its pretty clear.

    I like San Diego's chances next year, believe it or not.

    Maybe Seau can go back there and help his old team out.

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    Yeah, let's really have some perspective. The players on both sides of the ball bear the brunt in this loss. And the Giants players did want it more. Maybe the coaches did too, but the real gaffs in coaching on the evening were Bill's and had nothing to do with his OC. Not having confidence in his PK and having too much confidence in his pass rushers. If anything his focus on defense may have hurt the offense. Even Charlie benefitted from his counsel, he adjusted the call on the Patten TD in XXXVI based on something he was seeing in coverage. He was too busy coaching up the D all through the first half to even watch what was transpiring on offense. And that may speak volumes to the competence of our DC.

    Re: McDaniels to Brady: 'We are not changing a thing'

    lets look at this objectively guys. mcdaniels didnt have great game plan -yes. But BB is the ultimate master. how many times have we seen BB talk to brady. Also JMcd called great games all through the yr. he made mistakes in this one. So i think we dont need to get drastic on this.he made mistakes just like BB did.
