Bill Polian vs. Scott Pioli - Which one is better?

Except for Boston, what is the great state of Massachusetts but one big pasture patty? Indianapolis also feeds the Chicago market - in fact, the whole midwest. Believe it or not, that is quite a bit larger than the rural NE area. Apparently you have never been to Race Weekend to see all the corporate sponsors drawn to the Indy area. And excuse me....Foxboro is not exactly a booming metropolis itself. I find it odd how so many Pat fans live in the boondocks themselves, but make fun of Indy - a metropolis of almost a million, and the greater metro area almost 3 mil. But it's great the rest of the US doesn't like Indy - it keeps all the other people out , just the way we like it. You can't imagine the accomplishment of having the World Champion Colts all to ourselves in this community.
Enough of your tirade. Please don't even compare Indianapolis to New York, Los Angeles, or Chicago.

Here is the bottom line:

It's quite evident in this day and age that NFL players change scenery for the money.

Your run defense, our pass defense... both quite the squeaky wheel, however our defense has performed much better in scoring defense this year. We're getting like five safeties back off IR. Who are you getting back? Monte Reagor?

Hasn't your whole secondary self destructed for the past three years? It seems to be the combination of 2nd tier athletes playing a very aggressive style. Harrison's body is done. The rest of your safeties might not be able to start on any other team. FAce it - you need to rebuild rather than patch every year.

The Pats secondary has sucked since Law left in 2004. Even in 2004, he was injured all year and it still sucked. They were scorched in the SB by Delhomme. They could only defend by praying the officials wouldn't call them for PI, and when they did, Pat fans screamed foul. The only thing that saved the Pats was a good rush up front. They will still be rebuilding in 2007, as they will have to rebuild their DB amd LB units. HArrison, Samuel, Seau, and Teddy B. will be gone or playing in a diminished capacity. Meanwhile, they have no first line WRs, and Brady's shoulder is injured. Belichick will be saying that AGAIN this year.

Let me get this right. The day after your teams biggest victory, youudecide to register and post on another teams board.

And you say you are not a troll?

Meanwhile, with the salary cap situation for the Colts in 2007, have fun signing the Monty Beisels and Chad Browns of the world. The Colts will be relegated to the scrap heap of unrestricted free agency.

Don't you have the authority to ban this clown?

There is a certain naivete about Colts fans from Indiana (who were nearly dumbstruck in the first quarter last night as the all apparently huddled around their TV sets rather than venture to Miami) that is about to be hammered.
Couldn't have said it better myself.

We just need to resign our own. We don't need to go out into the FA market as the Pats need to.

OK, leaving now as this has deteriorated into a typical Pat troll board. Pat fans just cannot talk football; they must hurl insults. Fine. See you at the Dome.

Meanwhile, the New England Patriots have two first round draft picks in 2007. The Patriots could easily select Michael Griffin, safety from Texas, in the first round who incidentally is a far better prospect than Antoine Bethea.

The Indianapolis Colts don't even have the margin under the salary cap to do that!

BAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA!

I could say the very same about your defensive secondary. You'll find out how durable your players are after 16 games of people wailing on you with their best "beat the champs" effort.

Your secondary is far from dog**** however they won't last the season if they fly about like they did in the playoffs, or if they have to play 30 or more minutes a game, or both.

We'll be able to find four or five gamers from among the likes of Rodney Harrison, Eugene Wilson, Artrell Hawkins, Tebucky Jones, James Sanders, Willie Andrews, Chad Scott, Ray Ventrone, Randall Gay, and all the draft picks/cap space we have.

You still haven't answered my question of what reinforcements you'll have for the middle of your defense. Will Rob Morris be resigned? Will Corey Simon decide he wants to play football again? Will you once again resort to Dan Klecko?

Don't let the door hit you on the way out, ya troll!

Sometimes GM effectiveness can be measured not only in who you draft/sign but also who you don't let get away. Beloli have lost a few key players - providing the image of being ' too cheap' to pay the going rate for skilled players. Whatever the truth, there does seem to be an arrogance/stubborness in the Patriot ' my way or the hiway' approach to ***ency.

What is the difference between "my way or the hiway {sic}" approach the Patriots theoretically employ and what other teams do? The Patriots signed Seymour, Brady, Bruschi, Vrabel, Light, Koppen and Harrison, among others, to extensions. So they're "arrogant" because they don't sign EVERY SINGLE PLAYER they're negotiating with to WHATEVER THEY WANT contracts?

Sometimes GM effectiveness can be measured not only in who you draft/sign but also who you don't let get away.

Right. EXACTLY. Do you see the irony here? This is incredibly ignorant. This site is for people who are able to separate the B.S. conventional wisdom chaff from what is ACTUAL.

Please. Run along.

Not unless he's posting porn over at the Ladies Lounge.

I think I'm going to have to add something to my already busy sig about this mod stuff. Over here I'm just another brick in the wall.

Thats off base. Getting Bob Sanders round 2 is beyond ridiculous and he deserves major props there.

I agree. Sanders is an ALL PRO the 3-4 games he actually plays each year. Sanders is too small and plays too aggressive to stay healthy. That is why he didn't go in the first round. I don't care how talent a player is, if he misses 3/4 of a season two of the three years he has played, he isn't a great pick up.

I think Sanders is one of the most talented safeties in the league, but he is a small guy playing like some of the bigger safeties like Harrison or Dawkins. His body just can't stand up to that abuse week after week. I would rather have a solid player who can play a 16 game season year after year than an All Pro who only plays 3-4 regular season games a year.

Yeah! I agree! The Pats have only won a Super Bowl, gone to the AFC Championships, and won their division in the last three years. They were only 17-2, 12-6, and 14-5 over the last three years. They definitely need to blow up and rebuild.

Harrison's body is done, but so is Bob Sanders. Harrison has played more games than Sanders over the last three years. Sanders has missed more games due to injuries than Harrison too.

Do you ever age check some of these posters? I think this ATippett is about 12. Oh, I forgot this isn't an adult website, so he is free to act like a child.

Wow! Are Colts fans really this dumb? You act like the Pats finished 4 games behind the Colts and didn't make it to the AFC Championships.

The Colts weren't the most talented team in the league this year. They can't rely on Bob Sanders playing a 16 game season. They still have some questions on their defense. Marvin Harrison isn't getting any younger and his play is bound to start to drop off potentially as soon as next season. The odds of the Colts keeping all of their guys is neglible considering how many free agents they have and how much money they have. Dominick Rhodes, Cato June, and others are very likely gone.

The Pats got into the AFC Championship with the players they have. They are flushed with cap money and draft picks. You act like it is a negative. The Pats were 4 points away from beating the Colts in the AFC Championship. If the Pats get better this offseason and the Colts stay the same, wouldn't it be very likely that the Pats will be better next year?

Pot ... Kettle ... Black

You obviously have no clue whatsoever how the salary cap system works.
