If you had one Q for BB what would it be?

One that comes to mind is to ask if it is just a coincidence that he and Pioli have yet to draft a starting linebacker. Are New England's requirements at linebacker so specialized that they are better filled by veterans?

Great opportunity! Have fun and be sure to give us a FULL report!

Mike's question is the one I would have suggested; so let me give it a strong second.

Here's another I'll suggest: Of all of the skills and techniques required of a linebacker in your defence, which is the most difficult to teach?

And another teaching related question for him:

You place alot of emphasis on players recognizing situations, and reacting accordingly. Is there one specific situation that you'd consider the most difficult for players to recognize, and, therefore, most often missed?

Q: You started as a Special Teams coach and became known as a defensive backs coach and Defensive Co-ordinator. If you were to go back to being a position coach, what position would you most like to coach? Is there any position that you wouldn't be confident in coaching?

I wonder if he would now answer what happened with Gabriel last season that got him booted off the team.

I also wonder what made him conclude that Moss will fit in with the Patriots' style of team play given his questionable track record.

I'd ask him why he prefers the 3-4 to the 4-3.

I would really like to hear about why they consistently pass on college LB's as well.

In regards to how much longer he plans to coach: it made me think of a quote by John Madden a to why he never got back into coaching. What he said was that the wins no longer brought him any joy, but that the losses were just devastating. He just hated not having fun being around football anymore becuase he loved the game so much.

I would like to know if, after all of the succes he has had, what is his motivation to keep going and is he able to still enjoy his job despite the media and fans' beliefs that anything less than a SB win is a failed season.

I think BB himself believes anything less than a SB win is a failed season.

I'd come ready with my CV and ask:

Can I have a job?

"I was thinking for a long time of a question that would be the verbal equivalent of sucking your as*, although I would pretend that I was interested in the answer. Rather than go through the trouble, my question is simply this: May I suck your as*?"

(Tounge in cheek. Insert proper smiley. Just poking a bit of fun at some of the hero worship. Peace!)

And I think Bill's answer to all of our questions would be, "it is what it is."

Actually, he remarked on the 06 season saying something to the effect of..
12-4 and one game from the SB. I've had worse seasons.

Yeah. I don't see him getting all nostalgic for the good old days in Cleveland.

Q: Professional sportsmen (and coaches) hate losing, but all teams lose sometimes. How far is it the responsibility of the Head Coach to make sure that the team comes to terms with losses in the best way possible -- and how do you go about ensuring that?

[You can tell that I like this thread, can't you?!]

How do you plan to replenish the LB corps since you'll start the year with no experienced LB under 30, (Colvin's borderline).

I'd try to say it in a nice way, of course.:D

If Vinatieri doesn't knock through that field goal to send the OAK game into overtime, would you still be the coach of the Patriots today (considering they missed the playoffs the following year)?

Here are 2 questions that he probably won't answer but I'd love to hear the answers to.

1. If Griffin and Merriweather were BOTH on the board, which S would you take.

2. You once mentioned that things that Doug Gabriel said to you about Rand Moss helped convince you the Moss could play here. What did he say, and BTW, what happend to Gabriel that made you decide to let him go?

I am going to a private function where BB will be the keynote speaker and we will get a chance to ask him questions. I was hoping to get some good smart football questions to ask him and of course I will share his answers with the board. any help would be appreciated. keep in mind I am not a hard nose journalist so I am not asking anything that would annoy him. I would love to have some good X's and O's qs and a few good history and SB run Qs?

thanks guys I am sure you will come up with some good stuff

How rapidly do offensive and defensive schemes change? For example, would a three- or five-year old system work fairly well, or does it have to be drastically overhauled in that time frame?

The questions I would have, he wouldn't answer ;)

(like "what was the deal between you and Mangini last year").

Finding an interesting question that he would answer is a toughie.

Probably something like "Of all the Patriots who have come and gone since 2001 which was the most difficult to see go" would be mine, I guess.

At one time he said that player was Lawyer Milloy-I wonder if that's changed?

I like this one;it's innocuous enough at first blush, yet has possibilities;)
