I don't think anyone is obsessed with them. Maybe a few, but it's hard to tell. They have Peyton Manning at quarterback and our the Patriots #1 nemesis in the playoffs this year. It stands to reason that, everything given, they would have a lot of airplay on this forum. Go take a look at the Broncos forums. There's a good amount of threads on the Patriots there as well.

This is false my friend. BTW, this is champ&dreallday from the Broncos message board.

Bronco's fan here. Not coming here to troll and as Kon will tell everyone, I've stood up for him on our message board, when people try to call him a troll. I'm finally here (approval took around 2 months) to share my thoughts and here objective thoughts from whomever decides to respond.

Kon, I think you do have to say there's not much Patriot talk on our site outside of when we play each other. There's some Brady vs Peyton talk occasionally, but not a lot of posts on Brady/ Patriots. Peyton's record is what it is in the playoffs. I can't speak on many of his Colts losses, but last year's as a Bronco was not on him. He put his team in position to win (97% chance) with 35 seconds left and our defense for the 3rd time gave up a very uncommonly bad TD. And somehow this leads to Peyton choking. They came into Denver and punched us in the mouth in our last game. We got bullied at home, no doubt. I wouldn't bet on it happening again. We will not a 4th string CB covering the best WR again. I also see the offense operating much better with Welker back on the field.

Hmmm...that board is full of:

They cheated
They cheated
They have not won since they cheated
They cheated
We hate the Raiders
They cheated
They cheated
Elway is GOAT
They cheated
Lets laugh at the Chiefs
They cheated
I love Champ

Predictable, boring and honestly uninspiring. Whenever a team faces a divisional foe its a battle. Just the way it is. SD is coming in there with nothing to lose and playing with house money. Its going to be cold (not freezing) and windy. I hope its a tough and brutal game. Most of the Denver's fans level of disrespect for that Pats and us their fans is off the charts and your football knowledge is at best below average. Elway is not the greatest QB ever...not even in the top 5.

I was actually talking about the sewage runoff, err... forum, of OrangeMane. BroncosCountry seems to be pretty level headed. And yeah, I remember you. I trolled one time on that forum, but it was all in good fun. :D Welcome to the forum. Good to see you posting here.

Your defense was awful that day (and all season, really), but Peyton did choke in that game. Manning threw two interceptions. One was a pick six thrown into triple coverage during the game. The other one was in overtime when he was in position to take the team for a game winning drive against a D that was obviously gassed. Instead, he made a throw that quarterbacks are taught not to make in pee-wee, across his body and right to Graham, which allowed the Ravens to run a few more plays and kick the game winning field goal. So yeah, the Broncos' defense was pathetic. But Peyton was in the position to drag that pathetic defense to a win in OT and instead gave the win to the other team. That, my friend, is your textbook definition of a choke.

That said, how do you feel about San Diego coming to town again?

Denver Broncos:

No von Miller, no Lombardi Trophy.

Our defense was actually top 5 vs the pass and rush last year....And Champ had only given up 1 TD all year and it was to AJ Green....Peytons pick 6 was to a open WR that had his arm held and the ball bounced off his chest to the safety (both commentators said it was clearly PI and the Ravens just got lucky, it happens). The pick in overtime was horrible, but I don't really blame him for taking chances (even a bad one) to win the game and not depend on our defense which just didn't have it that day. But all of that's history.

As far as SD coming to Denver this week, I don't see them being able to run the ball like they did a couple weeks back. For one Matthews is somewhat hurt and two, our defense was horrible and undisciplined that day. They BULLIED us and we didn't want to fight back that day. I don't see that happening again or commiting boneheaded penalties on 3rd and 4th down again. Similar to the game vs the Ravens to start this season, I think we'll see a pissed off Peyton and motivated defense. Not to mention Knowshon Moreno is running the ball pretty well and the rookie Montee Ball is getting better every game.

I know that my comments will come across as being a homer, since I'm a charger fan but I honestly don't see any reason not to pick the Chargers as the favorite for this game.

We held Denver to 28 or less points both games that we played them. In the last game we've dominated them on both lines of scrimmage. We've dominated the time of possession in both games by running the ball and converting on third downs. San Diego is the #1 team in the league on 3rd down conversions and time of possession.

Peyton Manning has historically struggled against the Chargers and has never beaten them in the playoffs. Our running game is averaging over 170 yards per game in the last 5 games, while their running game only managed 18 rushing yards in our last meeting.

All the pressure is on Manning, whereas the Chargers just beat the Broncos a month ago so they're not scared like another team might be. It looks like San Diego is going to be in the AFC championship, which is good for NE if they advance since that will mean that the AFCC game will be in NE.

I would not consider the San Diego Chargers the favorite in the AFC Divisional Playoff game, however I do like the San Diego Chargers chances versus a Denver Broncos team without von Miller on defense.

That "clear" PI was into triple coverage. It was still a god awful throw that shouldn't have been made. He might have been trying to draw a flag and those come fewer and fewer in the playoffs (as we saw this past weekend). As far as your defensive rankings go, I would suggest you look the rankings of the offenses the Broncos faced last season. Not exactly a murderer's row.

I think you're underestimating San Diego.

I was thinking ahead and rooted for the ravens against the Broncos in the playoffs last year. After that I decided I'm just going to let things play out and hope the Pats keep winning.

That being said it is very hard for me to not hope that the Chargers pull this out.

I did the same thing, and it bit us right on the hind quarters.

Orange Mane losers are worse and you only listed three in my list.

:D

I am seeing a 17 mph wind, if is gusting over 30 that is very bad news for Manning. He doesn't have the arm strength and tight spiral to get it through the wind anymore.

I still like the Pats at home. but will watch to see how the chips fall.

The Ravens came in and were the more physical team. I don't see that from either Denver, SD or the Colts for that matter. This is a different Pats team. Plus I am not convinced we lose if Talib does not get hurt early on.

I think we could all expect a fair amount of talk if NE were the top seed, as they've recently been in the past couple/few years, and you were one game away from potentially playing them. That's certainly reasonable enough to assume, I'd think.

I agree with some of your thoughts about DEN and Manning winning on Sunday, due to the Welker playing this time around factor, etc.

One of the things that has bothered me about the DEN playoff loss last season was the fact that they played for overtime once BAL scored the tying TD. I didn't agree with that, as it would seem that you're really gambling by giving up, not attempting any kind of drive whatsoever to try and get into FG range, and you're evening out the odds a lot more. I'm not claiming that Belichick may have not done the same thing, but I would've liked to have seen Manning take a shot or two there, even if there was only 30 seconds or so remaining (I'm not sure how much time was left, although I know it wasn't much). I thought they definitely still had a timeout left though.

With the game being played at Mile High (or whatever you call it now) and in the thinner air, I'd have thought that it may be worthwhile to get into FG range from about 55 yds out and try to win the game in regulation.

I have never seen any other team forum so obsessed with any other player from another team as I see here. The Peyton bashing that goes on here is pathetic.

3 things:

1. Not everyone here bashes Manning. There are many of us who respect the hell out of him as a QB. You're attempting to make a relationship by using a very small sample size, normally consisting of the same handful of posters. We all think that Peyton is a classy guy deep down, and we all appreciate the rivalry over the years. Peyton is hard to dislike for those who are being honest, even if we do not like the rival teams from a fan's perspective. There are many more players in the NFL like Suh, Cromartie, etc who are much, much worse than Peyton Manning.

2. Apparently you haven't been on any other forums or read any of the comments on PFT or ESPN before. If you want to talk about being "obsessed" with another team, check out any random Patriot comment from the past 10 yrs or so....in any context whatsoever. The majority of them don't even make much sense to be honest with you.

3. The fact remains that Peyton Manning is a great QB in the regular season, but no one in the history of the NFL has lost more postseason games. If you're honestly going to look at his 9-11 postseason record (with EIGHT one and done losses in the very first game) and claim that you just don't "get it," I'm not sure what to tell you. There is certainly some truth to the comments that he has choked in the postseason, although that has absolutely no bearing on this particular year, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he went to the SB, maybe even winning it.

snow/rain on sunday for the game

Naw, here in denver we expect high 40's and a 20% change of precip! that means nothing here. It is going to be good weather for the game, been all over the news here.

Plus when they predict rain or snow they are almost always wrong in a good way.

And as far as wind it rarely is a factor in that stadium, it is parked on the west side of town on the side of a hill, it has some natural protection, they built it well. I'm not saying it has not happened but only in very rare and extreme conditions.

Well what you are seeing is a reaction to the media ball washing of Manning who is hyped by the media as being better than Brady when he is a sure HOF QB but not nearly as good as Brady historically.

I will agree that Manning does get way to much media praise. It does get old. But u can't forget about Brady and the Pats during there prime. They got there fair share of media ball washing as well.

I agree and respect most of your post. I do believe the reputation he has received about his postseason record is undeserved. He has been let down by his defense and special teams on many of those losses after putting his team in position to win. Unfortunately I see the same this year due to there horrid defense.
