Eric Mangini regrets Spygate result

Mangini deserves his share of the blame - but it was Goodell who was the one who decided to feign ignorance of spying in the NFL dating back to George Halas and Lamar Hunt.

Goodell knew that most NFL fans were too stupid to know the NFL allows filming of playcalling (just not from the sidelines) and decided to make himself look good by making Belichick look bad.

That wasn't Mangini's call - that was Goodell's and I lay most of the blame on his lap.
Yep, all Mangini did was bring to the attention of Mein Führer an issue with sideline taping. I'm sure it could have been handled better but if Patriots fans want to take up issue with anyone it's Goodell, Specter and the other fairies for their involvement in turning a minor rule infraction (or misinterpretation if you should so choose) into a circus event that became bigger than Ben Hur.

Goodell would fine someone 50K and take a baseball bat to their knees for jaywalking. That's the type of autocrat he is.

Hmm, bizarre post.

Too late to come crawling back now Eric because you can't get another NFL job. You pissed all over us you SOB, get the eff off the Boston airwaves you POS.

You did us wrong and we'll never, ever forget..........

BB made you, gave you that chance to get that head coaching job that allows you to live the pretty cushy life style that you're living now with the fat bank account you reaped from it. You turned around and stabbed the man in the back after what he gave you ??

Surprised you're not on a boat ride right now with Tony Soprano.

Actions have consequences, Eric. When you call in the Po-Po, the Po-Po are gonna do what the Po-Po do.

It's on you, and "My bad" is not going to bring back that draft pick. Thanks partly to you, we're stuck with the actions of a commissioner who thinks every minor incident is an opportunity to release his inner dictator.

You folks who live in Boston should be all over any local station that gives the Rat airtime. Flood them with emails and calls!

The only thing sad about Mangini is his utter obliviousness to the fact that he would never have gotten the Jets job in the first place if Woody and Tannenbaum didn't think it would hamstring BB. He may have raised Spygate to irritate BB, but while he was coaching the game, the front office was running with it. IMO, the Jets knew Mangini wasn't "all that" when they coaxed him away. BB had relieved him as DC and coached the front 7 himself that season.

The rat b a $t @ r d......

Yeah......I'm sure pontius pilot and Judas wished they could go back and change things after seeing how it all turned out too Eric. This guy is a gutless, spineless, useless, bloated pile of dog sh*t. He came out at that time and crucified BB. Turned his back on him and twisted the knife in belichick's back. " Oh yeah...BB used to tape signals all the time when i was there" Now its all "i feel so terrible....I didn't mean to hurt anyone....boo freaking hoo" F*ck you Man-gina, aka ratboy....hope u rot in hell for what u did to the pats, the krafts, and the entire organization......

Then with no offense intended....you are a little naive here.....

You can take this for whatever it is worth because I'm a guy on the internet.

But the story I've heard from someone close to Kraft is that Mangini was doing some gamesmanship to try to distract Bill during the game and then it got bigger than he wanted when the Jets picked it up and ran with it and the NFL stepped in.

Personally I believe it. I don't think Mangini was out to do much more than **** with BB during the game, I don't think most coaches would go out of their way to do something like that because of the fraternal nature of coaching.

This. It was started by The Rat, but was also thanks in large part to the idiot commish.

When The Rat he comes out and says "I did the same thing with the Jets" and "When I worked for the Pats, we didn't even LOOK at those videos until later the next week, and even then they weren't very useful", then maybe I'll pay attention (a little).

Too bad he couldn't have defused the whole thing before it got to the ridiculous point that it did.

When he has the national audience some day he can announce to the world that taping is no big deal and he also did it with the rats. Then maybe he can feel some remorse for what happened.

Yah, after all we're allies with Germany even after they bombed Pearl Harbor

LOL

I have no doubt there is a level of regret.

I imagine it must be tough to look at ones self in the mirror in the morning knowing you betrayed the man and the organization that gave you the opportunity to have the career you did.

No sympathy.

He will forever be known as the man who betrayed BB, the man who gave him his career. Sure fans of other teams love it. But as I said, looking himself in the mirror must get tough

I regret that he ever had a part of the Pats. I seriously don't think he meant for what happen to happen but hey, neither did that drunk driver who ran over a family.
Shameful comparison.

A few coaches (Cowher and JJ) tried to speak up and stop all the media nonsenses but they were just ignored. If Mangini wanted to prevent the media circus, he had plenty of chances to intervene. Instead, he sat there and acted like he was taking the high ground despite being busted the year before by the Pats for the exact same thing.
I think its a naive expectation that he would comment on what he thinks about the issue.

Now everyone knows he's not good at his job and he is not trust worthy. He screwed over the Pats multiple times and now he's sorry....if he's ever across the street from me, all your hear is RATFINK RATFINK RATFINK.
I don't get how people expect the former asst coach of the Patriots and current HC of the Jets to be loyal to the Patriots.
I think Mangini should have seen the stain he was causing on BB from the hysteria that would follow (look at how much publicity the hand shake got) but his job was to coach the Jets.
Can anyone imagine BB coming here and having to wrestle with whether his loyalty lied here or back with Parcells and the Jets?

What Mangini did sucked, and you'd like to think he would have found a better way to deal with it, but he was doing his job as HC of NYJ.

F Spygate, Mangini was a schmuck before that all happened. Remember how he left.
