This is the week leading up to a game and I see little discussion of the opponent. I know very little about KC and would like to know what to look for on Sunday.

What do hey do well? What do they do poorly? Who the heck is their quarterback? How does Herm still have a job?

So please, feel free to discuss Kansas City here.

And will be praying to beat the Dolphins '07 record... lol

I hate the state of Kansas.

that is all you need to know.

What's that got to do with Kansas City, Mo. or the Chiefs?

They had an incredible draft but I dont know if Dorsey or Albert is healthy. Watch for CB Flowers, he was Mayock's favorite CB coming out. I also like J.Charles, Larry Johnson's backup. They have BIG recievers, but the QB/OL are questionable at best.

I watched some of the Kansas City vs. Miami preseason game, and the Dolphins dominated with starters and the reserves was no different. While the Dolphins are improved, they are far short of mediocre.

Kansas City cannot pass protect, can't throw the ball to anyone but Gonzolez, showed no evidence of road-grader run-blocking like they used to do, and on D they seem to have problems with crossing routes and in containing inside runs.

In theory, this is a good tune-up, like when Ohio State starts with Youngstown State.

In theory, that is. Yes, I know all about any given Sunday, and our injury issues, yadda yadda yadda.

Also they traded away maybe the best pass rusher in the league. 5 years ago their OL was the best in the league but they got old.

One thing I did read somewhere (I'll come back and post a link if I can find it) is that they are giving their offense and QB more freedom this year. Specifically, last year their QB could not audible - when they called the play, they ran that play, even if it was doomed from the start. This year Herm is giving Croyle the okay to audible and change plays based on what the defense is showing. If that is the case, then it will make it a bit more difficult for BB to game plan as there will be no regular season film, just this year's preseason games to see how the KC offense reacts in those situations.

On the KC OL, they are going to start Brandon Albert at LT - a rookie who missed all of TC and played guard at Virginia last year. I would imagine that this would be an area that the Pats should be able to exploit. Preventing Brodie Croyle from having time to throw will limit the effectiveness of WR Dwayne Bowe and TE Tony Gonzalez.

Albert will be one of four rookies starting for KC, along with DT Glen Dorsey, CB Brandon Flowers, and FB Mike Cox.

At RB, the Chiefs big question will be whether they are going to give us the 2007 or 2005-6 version of Larry Johnson.

Their QB is pretty raw

their o-line except for the left guard Brian Waters, is a mess, although their rookie Branden Albert could be good

Larry Johnson has been a stud for them, but Herm has run him into the ground

They have a GREAT young receiver in Dwayne Bowe, the guy is just plain nasty

Tony Gonzalez you've probably heard of

lots of young defensive talent - Glenn Dorsey, Turk McBride, Tank Tyler, Tamba Hali - thats a pretty decent defensive line now and should only get better

other than that, I don't think there's too much to write home about, if we play the way we should then there's no way we don't come out with a win.

They will run Johnson till he is blue in the face and tired,Then throw the ball to Bowe for a bit but you have to think they will try and go with the run since they truly have no real great QB and have always had a decent rushing attack with Holmes back then and now Johnson

They have the longest active losing streak (9) in the NFL.

Their 4 wins last year were...

vs Vikings
@ San Diego
vs Bengals
@ Raiders (October 21st, their last win)

Their starting QB Brodie Croyle has never won a game in his NFL career. (0-6)

Larry Johnson was an absolute beast from '05-'06. However, he only started 8 games last year with a 3.5 YPC before suffering a season ending foot injury in Week 9 against the Packers.

They play to win the game.

Herm Edwards is a master at clock management.

In one episode of the Simpsons, Abraham Simpson was hanging a flag... Bart said to Him, You can't hang that up, It only has 49 stars... Grandpa Abraham Simpson's response: "I'll be in the deep, cold, cold, ground before I recognize Missoura!"

Hoim Edwards...all you have to know about KC

I think everyone in America outside Kansas City is looking waaaaaay past this game. A tight contest wouldn't surprise me.

Only if Brady doesn't play and / or Hannah brings windy and wet conditions.
