Gun to my head I said Drake is the guy but he is starting to scare me off with that slow release.
I don’t know if that can be coached out. That’s my only knock on him.

I guess I would take Caleb Williams, then one of Nix or McCarthy afterwards.
I think Maccarthy Would run Shanny system better than Purdy and that is the style of Offense I want to see here so he is moving up my board.
I am taking Your and BaconGundy QB analysis over any here...very concerning take on Maye about his slow release.

Marvin Harrison Jr followed by Jayden Daniels.

If Bill benches Mac, he has a better chance of stealing a couple wins with the dreaded QB change where the player has the "I got nothing to lose" attitude. Those guys are dangerous if you're trying to tank.

See Damon Huard in both matchups in 1999.
Ray Lucas on MNF.
Jay Feely in 2004 and 2007
Dan Orlovsky in 2011.
Brock Osweiler 2015

The list goes on. They start chucking up passes a starter normally wouldn't do.
Winning a slew of games now is nonsensical for obvious reasons.

Stay the course. Opportunities like this dont come around often.

So?

And?

You are citing the probability of a high QB pick being a bust but not committing to how a team wins a Super Bowl without a franchise QB.

But you are assuming that if the Pats hypothetically traded away the first pick in the draft for three first round picks or more that they wouldn’t use one of those picks to draft a QB who could become a franchise or even an elite QB. This draft has four or five QBs with the potential to be good or great NFL drafts.

Look at Chicago. They traded away the first pick in the draft last year and they are now in position to potentially get Williams or Maye along with Harrison Jr., Fashanu, or Bowers.

I am assuming no such thing. Not sure where you got that.

I'm only stating if they think they have their next franchise QB in the top few slots they should draft him.

Because they already burned a 1st rounder on a QB and didn't want to draft another one. It wasn't because of the logic you are advocating for.

Shown? That's your opinion nothing more. Unless you're in some alternate reality where we saw those losses turn to wins? Lol

Realistically what if we end up with the #2 or #3 pick, or even 4 or 5what could we get if we trade down? Anyone have one of the draft calculators?

First, I never said the Bears traded the first round pick for the same reason. I just pointed out that they traded away the first pick in the draft and still have the opportunity to draft either the first or second best QB draft prospect in this draft.

Second, there are other QBs besides Williams and Maye. Both QBs have red flags. I think have overly minimized Williams’ red flags because they keep seeing Mahomes 2.0. Who knows McCarthy or Penix, Nix, or whoever could end up being the best QB coming out of the draft and not Maye or Williams.

In 2021, five teams drafted QBs in the top 15 because they wanted to draft their next franchise QB. Only one did. And that QB is a disappointment based on expectations.

Mahomes was the tenth overall pick. Aaron Rodgers was drafted 24th. Lamar Jackson was drafted 32nd. Russell Wilson was drafted in the second round. Dak Prescott was drafted in the fourth round and he replaced Romo who wasn’t drafted at all. Brock Purdy wasn’t drafted. You don‘t have to draft in the top five to get a franchise QB.

I did. Seems you implied they did it as part of a strategy when reality they already had a QB so why keep the pick?

Again your chances are better landing a franchise QB in the top 3. Not sure why that is even a debate?

No it wasn't forgetting how, it was his knee. He injured his knee in the AFC Championship game, it was fine for the SB but got worse in the offseason and had to get it treated. The brilliance of our GM/HC led him to sign a guy who apparently can't run anymore to a 3/33M deal. Nice going. In the meantime Meyers who was Mac's binky has 512 yards receiving for the Raiders and getting plenty of looks even with Adams on the team. Bourne is still the leading receiver on our team with 406 and he hasn't played since the Miami game. Don't gimme that stuff that Juju is some elite weapon who just needs a QB to be great. He's not anymore. Not even close.

Yet another wretched decision made by the GM/HC. Thankfully there won't be many more of those. Time's up Bill.
Sure… his knee, the one that didn’t cause him to miss a single practice in the preseason or since.

You’re desperate to tell us Mac doesn’t suck but you’re not a Mac shill. So you’re just a troll on all things Patriots.

Oh wait I forgot. If the HC/GM does something that automatically means it's awesome. Right.

3 years/33M for a guy who can't run anymore and letting Meyers walk away to be productive in Vegas.

Chalk up another W for the HC/GM. /s

He runs fine, Mac sucks.

You don’t understand football, try basket weaving instead.

Just shy of 1K yards last year with Mahomes, this year with Mac he can’t run.

Maybe needlepoint is more your speed…

Sure Bill. Enjoy retirement after these next 7 games. Too bad you allowed Brady to leave or maybe you'd be the winningest coach ever by now.

Brady was a free agent, it’s the “free” in free agent you’re struggling with.

Maybe we shouldn’t allow you to handle needles after all…

No excuses Bill, you should have swallowed your pride and given the GOAT what he wanted to stay. You look a lot better with him than without. Now you're going to retire with that cloud over your legacy. What a shame.

BB drafted Brady genius.

It's almost like when you have one of the best pass catchers in the league like Kelce who gets the attention of the best CB's or gets double covered the other WR's look better and get more production.

What a thought.

BB drafted Brady genius.
This thinking is way overplayed. If you were such a genius with this amazing foresight then you wouldn't have waited till pick 199 to take Brady, you would have picked him with your first pick of the draft. A genius move to take a flyer on a 6th round QB? I don't think so.
