NFL scout on Garoppolo: Bill thinks he's got the next great one

Here's my guess/hope:

Brady tells coach "Give me 2 more years to get #6 and I'm done."

What do I base this on? Nothing really...

1. BB looks like the cat that swallowed the canary.
I believe Schefter; that they were not really entertaining offers for JG. When has BB ever not had a plan in place?
Lombardi said something to the effect "If Garoppolo is as good as everyone in the building believes he his."
BB does have the next best thing.
Look how quickly/cheaply he cuts bait on other QB's (although he really doesn't have a third option yet).

2. I believe the rumblings out of the Brady camp.
Giselle is putting pressure on Tom to hang it up. The concussion thing is real, just not official. I had a friend that played HS linebacker and he said at least once per game he didn't know where he was.

I want to see Brady go out on top like Elway.
I don't ever want to see Brady in another uniform.
I don't want to see Brady linger past his prime like Montana or Bobby Orr.
I want to see a healthy Tom Brady enjoy his lovely wife and family in good health.

I want to see all the other 31 teams and fans piss their pants when they realize it doesn't end with Tom Brady.
Young wasn't Montana. He was different.

Next year is Brady's last. He's already losing a tiny bit off of his fastball. Get him his sixth and ship him to Cleveland.

What kind of an idiot would expect a guy to carry this team to its 3rd championship in 4 years then trade him.

Can't fault anyone for having concern over the post Brady era, and I don't think its far fetched that this dynasty continues post Brady

I honestly cannot wait for them to send Garrapolo packing and put an end to this ignorant bullsh.t. I swear to god this is the dumbest fan base in football. Unf.cking believable.
Social media has bit more then one person in the ass. What is fascinating is when an individual calls out a population as ignorant based on speculation.

There is a huge difference between having concern over what happens after Brady is done and ending Brady prematurely.

Did you read what you posted?

Exactly what I said one reporter guessing at what the briwns might consider doing.

Did you read her column?

You said there were rumors and the article was stating it as fact.

Except that's exactly what is being asked, and the person who started the thread claimed in another thread in the same topic that " they should get rid of Brady and go to Garrapolo next season EVEN IF THE PATRIOTS GO 19-0."

That's f.cking nuts, period.
That I completely concur with.

BB can think Jimmy is the second-coming of ************ but if Tom has another monster year, collects a ring for the other hand shows no sign of slippage you keep riding him.

What do you base that on?
BB is not as simplistic as people here make him out to be.

Who said he was simplistic? He has about 12 different plans on how to handle Tom's situation whatever that may be.

But you have to flesh out the details.

2017 Brady is likely to be the best QB in the NFL again.
2018 If Brady has a career threatening injury or just totally loses it in 2017 or retires after 2017 then JAG could be signed long term or franchised or the patriots would have to look elsewhere.
If Brady 2017 resembles Brady 2016 jags contract is up and he will either be franchised and traded (if we can afford the tag) or become a free agent. There is really no scenario he stays here unless Brady is done.
We will look to brisset and a new draft choice as the next post Brady option.

I can guarantee you JAG will never see the light of day as a FA. Hes either staying here or franchised and traded.

No it isn't. It is her saying she thinks the browns would offer #12. I quoted it.
She was possibly the source of all the rumors. It's her guess.

You just said "with bill ITS ALL ABOUT PROJECTION"
That is simplistic.

Well he is t staying as a backup so unless you are cutting brady he is going.
I'm concerned we can afford to tag him.

She stated repeatedly the Browns dangled #12 in front of NE. I've read several of her pieces.

If you don't see that in her reporting that's up to you.

You are taking me a bit to literal.

Projection feeds planning. All caps?

Oh its a huge concern they won't have room but I'm assuming Bill has plans in place.

They have 152 million committed to 2018 without butler, a LT and done other important players who's contracts are up after this year.
We may have to chose between cutting players to tag him and losing our own because we have no space to sign them while we try to make a trade or just accept the likely 3rd round comp pick which may not be a lot less than we get in a tag and trade anyway.

But saying it's all about is saying it's simplistic.
There are a lot more factors involved.

Sorry that's a fail.
You posted an article where she says if the patriots would take #12 she thinks they would strongly consider it.

That is not close to saying they offered it.

If you think she "stated it as a fact" you would have to show a different article because in the one she clearly says it's her unconfirmed guess.

The other option would be a "sign and trade" with Jimmy where he does a mid-range deal here under the condition Bill, Yee and others would guide him to a quality organization via trade. I'm skeptical about that one big time but it might get NE much more in trade as opposed to a 3rd rd comp pick. I dunna know....takes a lot of faith on JAGs end to hope his new team redus his deal in 2019
