Manning To Retire Per Schefter

Not quite. Favre's went on for more years and more teams. At least Manning didn't demean himself by playing for the **ing Jets.

Damn it, that was a good year. If not for Favre's late season injury, things were looking promising.

Who knows though... maybe Peyton comes to NE for 4 games. I hear there may be an opening.

Well, even in 2010 before he hurt the SC joint his arm was still pretty strong. It was the stress fracture and the 2 concussions he experienced that year to send him to selling razors.

Manning's arm is cooked. Hes done.

i cant go there. in the end...it's just a game. i hope mort gets well. then i can start hating on him again.
Don't get it twisted, I don't hope he dies or anything. But I still think he's nothing but a has been, hack reporter puppet

My guess is what another poster above stated, that he probably didn't get any interest from other teams which is why he was delaying.. because everyone knows that arm is a j0ke now and everyone knows that the Broncos defense literally lifted Manning up onto their shoulders and carried him to another Super Bowl... never seen a QB do less in the postseason than this latest run by Manning

He desperately wanted to latch on to another team solely to keep padding his career records... i would bet anything that he's legitimately worried Brady will catch up and surpass his yardage record and some others.. Brady would have to have a hell of another 4 years to catch the TD record.. i think that's less likely, but with Gronk, Edelman and hopefully some additional weapons, i think he'd only need to score around 32 or so TDs a year which is very doable

I think it was the wins record that he wanted most and tying it was not sitting well with him.

Perhaps I'm being too optimistic, but if it means an end to his insipid commercials, I'm OK with not seeing Forehead Omaha intercepted and sacked really hard a few more times.

Youll see him on ESPN.
Hope the Rams and the Browns offer Brock the world.

Big news. This leads the Rams without a QB (presumably was going to be Manning). They have an insane amount of cap space.

Osweiler to LA
Fitzpatrick returns to Jets

Panic in donkeyland. Their top choice would be RGTurd.

Texans might be in for Osweiler too.

The new LA Rams could certainly give him the world. Cleveland, unfortunately, only offers sadness.....

If you could have Peyton either

1. continue to play, and at a high level but, except for game time, otherwise vanish from your TV

or

2. retire and be free to double or triple the number of commercials he can cut

which would you choose?

Happy retirement, Peyton

Hopefully the tendency to choke in January/February doesn't carry over into real life
