It's easy, and only takes a few moments. He wanted to sign in New York but didn't even sign with the Bills and went to Jersey instead. Guy is seriously ****ed in the head. This guy got his ring. Now he can fade into oblivion in new york. He can say he wanted to be in new york but that money helps
Who got the last laugh:
Tampa Bay: $16 million (2013)
New England: $12 million (2014)
New Jersey: $17 million (2017)
Maybe Belichick isn't such a dummy after all....
And a late 3rd round comp pick in 2016.Plus... a Lombardi. Heh.
I was listening to Felger and the mentally deficient today and they STILL don't get it. They were still complaining that if the Pats had upped their offer just a few more million they could have kept Revis. UNBELIEVEABLE! They also summarily dismissed the idea that all things being equal, Revis was going back to the Jets. And once again, they didn't have the sense to understand that had the Pats matched or come close to the Jets front loading of the contract, it would have destroyed their salary structure for years.
Even when faced with the fact that matching the Jets offer would create a $21MM cap hit in the first year, Felger's attitude was essentially, "so what" It didn't take long before I had to turn to NPR for relief.
Good for Revis, even if it's bad for the Patriots. No ill will here. If Gilbert's that much of a shark, I hope he becomes the new director of the PA.

Gilbert will direct his players to money over winning.
Can't believe this is my first post after lurking for a while. Anyways, Sean Gilbert is a CANCER to football. I repeat CANCER. Money over winning. See, sports are ALL about winning from youth to professional. Period. Money is an ancillary benefit. It's one thing to advise a player to get as much money from a winning organization to a) get the most you can from them and b) have the best chance to be a champion or champion(s).
Gilbert will direct his players to money over winning. That would hurt most players, as well as the fans of good winning organizations. He is everything that's wrong. In this instance if he had said take 28 f/g instead of 39 f/g he'd be fine in my book. Or he drove the Pats up to 32 or so.
Sean Gilbert will strengthen the Patriots position at the top of the totem because they don't subscribe to his way of thinking. Financially responsible teams will continue to dominate the league whereas Gilbert approach teams (e.g. Washington) will wallow in the depths of despair. Can't believe this is my first post after lurking for a while. Unfortunately here's the deal that most players in their greed, aren't going to get, if they elect Gilbert. They don't understand that for every dollar that someone like Revis gets, there are that many fewer dollars for everyone else. It's the first rule of capology. If he's the NFLPA President, Gilbert may have a greater impact upon player agents and the way they conduct their negotiations than he would the players. Very short shelf life for most NFL players and most don't want to miss a big payday with another hold-out. Too many younger and faster players are able to replace the hold-outs.
