Colin Kaepernick wants $18M per year from 49ers

More passing judgement from you. He has donated to worthy causes.

Anyways back to Colin, he made a few poor decisions on where to throw the ball. If you watch his press conferences from the other month you will see Kaepernik takes responsibility for those bad decisions in the game. However, Patrick Willis in a press conference refused to put the blame entirely on Colin for why the team lost. He said It is a team game... You win as a team and you lose as a team.

However as coach Harbaugh said he felt Colin's last throw of the game was a darn good throw and had it been 1 or 2 inches more towards the corner, Crabtree would have caught the ball and the 49ers would have won. Richard Sherman made a great play on the ball and deflected it.

Why wouldn’t I pass judgment, didn’t God give us the gift of reason which is specifically used to make judgments? That’s great that he’s donated, but wouldn’t he be that much better a person if he didn’t blow X amount inking his body up so people could think he’s so cool?

That's ok, you keep rooting for 'your brother'.

You'll have someone upstairs to answer to just as we all do. I know I am not perfect and have been saved by the grace of God. Thus, I am sure not going to cast stones. You keep posting the national inquirer article. I have seen that and the countless other articles good and bad on Colin.

I just wonder what you would do if your close friend, family member, favorite movie star or favorite sports player got a tattoo.

It's sad you think it is okay to go around judging anyone and everyone for tattoos, piercings, hair style etc.

That's your opinion.

I think one of the poster on this forum has an awesome sig: "Religion is like masturbation, do it in the privacy of your home." or something to that effect.

Why don't you just stick to football?

Because I am a Christian and I will never deny that no matter where I am. Just like when Tebow played in the NFL he didn't just stick to football. He talked about Jesus every chance he got.

Regardless if I am on a football forum, at work in the CPA office, at the grocery store, at the park, at the museum, at the football game etc. I talk about Jesus if I feel the need.

Of course that's my opinion. 99% of the posts in this forum are opinions.

Yet when you want to advocate for gay rights, civil rights etc. that was okay since those issues are important to you even though it wasn't football related. Yet you are not religious and you don't care for religion so you feel it shouldn't be discussed because it isn't football.

What a big double standard.

One poster I believe it was fnordcircle: He said something along the lines of I don't agree with Phillip Rivers or Tebow's stance on abortion or gay marriage, but they shouldn't have to shut up about it simply because I disagree with their stance.

No. No he wouldn't have been a better person if he hadn't gotten any tattoos. I don't see anything in that picture either that would make me not want to give him a contract. What would make we not want to give him $18m a year is that I don't think that he is worth that amount as a QB. But him having tattoos or doing bodyshots wouldn't affect me in any way as long as he doesn't take a bodyshot at a game or practise.

He/she has a point here.

CC, regardless of your enthusiasm for your chosen faith, not everyone here wants to see you referencing it as often as you do in your posts. You should respect that and keep it to football in this forum. Patsfans.com has a religion forum specifically for that kind of discussion.

You should respect my right to talk about my faith wherever I choose just as I would for you. I will continue talk about my faith when and where I see fit. Also if someone doesn't want to see my posts because of whatever reason. There's a ignore member option that makes all of the posts for that poster hidden.

With regards to the site, there is a separate forum for religion-specific discussions, just as there's a separate forum for draft discussions. There's nothing wrong with talking about your faith, as long as it's not derailing threads. I'm not saying that you've done that here, or that you haven't, and I know that the anti-Christian bigotry around here is often petty, stupid and ridiculous, so I'm not saying you should avoid all mention of religion out of concern for where others will take the threads.

I'm just noting the rules of the site.

Hold on. ...

Are we actually still at the point where we look down on those that have tattoos?
I don't look down on people with tattoos but I do think they are kind of silly. Back in the old days, it was something you'd see from a member of a motorcycle gang or something like that. These days, it is something most likely to be seen on the average 20-something suburban girl.

Okay thanks Deus, I am just not going to be bullied by those who have bigotry towards Christians. I kept this thread off religion with Demosthenes. Me and Demosthenes went back a forth respectfully about which QB is paid what in the NFL, how many years that QB was in the NFL, which QB contributed what to their team, which QB were overpaid considering there time in the league and performance etc. Then late last night when the personal attacks on Colin came in, it turned towards religion sorta.

Maybe the same way the Micheal Sam threads were moved to politics/religion forums then so should this thread if it can't get back on track.

More power to you. The 'tolerant' are remarkably intolerant, and I'm all for you standing your ground. Best of luck. Frankly, I'm surprised this thread wasn't moved to the NFL forum a while ago, nevermind the religion forum.

Who are you saying has a point?

You do. Conversations about Michael Sam being fabulous and Kaepernick/Tebow being saints under the grace of God should not be in this forum. It's strange that he would be fine with one subject yet infuriated at another when it's clear that neither of them should be discussed up here.

Oh okay thanks. As I was telling Deus if you go back in this thread and view the conversation me and Demosthenes had in this thread the other day. You will see Religion wasn't discussed amongst us. We discussed QB salaries around the league and if they were worth it, whether Colin was worth 18 mill, whether the 49ers can keep their great team intact while paying Colin 18 mill+.

Anyways I guess we'll just wait for this thread to be moved to either the religion forum or maybe the NFL forum.

My issue is with those that have double standards. They think It's okay to talk about non football related stuff as long as it is near and dear to them. Yet if that non football topic is not near and dear to them than they say it shouldn't be discussed.

First, the thread has now been moved. ;)

Second, this is a problem with a lot of forums that get split like this. Whether it's too much religion/politics/NFL instead of individual team/Draft/etc..., the mods have to decide when too much really is too much. They're not always going to get it right and, as you point out, a lot of people don't mind going OT, on a subject by subject basis, as long as it's not their ox being gored.

Having said that, I'm out of this thread. Enjoy!

Ah, welcome to the joys of winning the SB, Seattle.
Everyone on the team wants to get paid at an elite level…NOW!!!
Every 2014 opponent targets their game against you as their showpiece effort.

Very true. I know that the Hawks have some youth and depth, but they are certain to lose a few good players in this process. When it comes to Wilson, I see the FO making him a lifetime Seahawk with a large contract that is friendly to his annual salary, but with more length.

The crazy part is that the Hawks cannot even talk about it until the end of next season. I really hope that they continue to draft well, but 2015 is going to be a huge year for trying to keep the team together.

Kaepernick is determined to get that Tattoo money and if I am the Niners, I have my reservations about it. If he allows it to go through the 2014 season and plays out his contract, his entire salary will be reflective of the performance in 2014.

As someone who watches a lot of CK, I can honestly tell you that he knows one pass; the rocket. He has no touch, no timing and I think of him as one look, gun or run. It isn't always like that, but it is true of most of his games.

Ohh I know how it was before, but times have changed.

Some of the best up in coming doctors, lawyers, teachers etc are tatted up under their work attire.

If you think CK overrated or a DB because he kisses his biceps that's fine , but to say because of his tats that he shouldnt be the face of a franchise, I think thats ridiculous. I just see so many people, not only biker guys and thugs that have tattoos. Not to mention, a female tatted up is incredibly sexy....just Google Sydney Leroux!!!:D

CK isn't overrated, he just has a meltdown or two in close games. Look at the GB playoff game. The Packers have NO defense, yet the score tied in the 4th quarter CK's first pass is a pick 6 that Mikah Hyde drops.

In Seattle he played fair with a lead, but the minute the Seahawks threatened in the 4th he throws a pick and suffers a strip sack. They were lucky the Hawks only got 3 points out of those two TOs in Niner territory. Game on the line, he throws a low trajectory ball to his first option on Sherman's side of the field. Why is his first option that side of the field again? A play that has failed multiple times and one that I have never seen him convert.

CK is explosive and gifted. Rocket arm, but he has issues upstairs. He rips Sherman for responding to earlier Crabtree comments/issues about mocking him, but the week prior he is mocking Cam Newton.

In week 2 the Hawks destroy the Niners. As the clock nears 90 seconds he is running off the field pouting, in week 13 the Niners win by 2 in SF and he is celebrating like he won the Super Bowl even though he had a pretty bad game. Great winner, poor loser. I actually think he is likely worth the money, but there is a chance that he doesn't improve and continues to have those limitations.

Dude is a lightning bolt for a QB though.
