Patriots + Gronkowski = Divided

Don't blame Gronk at all. I was SHOCKED when his supposedly healed arm snapped like a twig his 1st game back after the original injury. The lack of real media scrutiny with that second injury was amazing. Gronk played in that game based on medical clearance from the Patriots docs. Sorry but they don't get a second chance.
If I'm Gronk I do not play until I feel 100%.

You know the arm didn't break in the same place, right?

Actually BB and Rosenhaus get along quite well too . The PUP logic florio is floating is illogical. He wouldnt have been able to practice with the team at all .

I agree on both points. That doesn't mean they aren't at odds over Gronk.

Many people in the media are stupidly questioning the logic go not putting him on PUP. Even if Gronk doesn't play until week six or seven, he will be in far better football shape than if he was on the PUP and came back at the same time.

lack of Media scrutiny.... BS. there was no legitimate reason for media scrutiny
(and personally I heard enough BB-haters screaming that he was at fault for bringing him back early - so I dont acknowledge that your argument that there was 'no scrutiny' is even true)

Did you watch the video of the play. The guy is HUGE (6-6 and 265) and he was flipped up in the air and coming down with entire body weight and he sticks out his arm (all that weight-force on that one point). There is no way in hell it was going to hold up to that no matter if it had NEVER BEEN INJURED.

It was a freak injury that occurred at a coincidentally bad time in relation to his return from previous injury in relatively same area.

INCIDENTALLY: Way back when in my Airborne school days; they taught us that when you land (parachute landing) you ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS hold your arms in (elbows into your gut and your arms in parallel to your body-hands next to your head so they dont bounce up into it). They clearly explained that your arms are like twigs and you need to fight the 'natural instinct' to stick out an arm so that you\ land like a shock absorber - bent knees/legs first and-or let all the fatty-muscular parts of your body absorb the shock.

Some of these football players (receivers) need to go to a (parachuting or other, judo? maybe) school to learn: HOW TO FALL. you turn your shoulder and absorb the hit with the muscle at the back and NEVER EVER EVER stick out your arm (obviously rbs get an exception on this to maintain balance -continue the play - but they arent generally getting airborne).

You know the arm didn't break in the same place, right?

What is your point?

Are you saying that injury had nothing to do with the previous arm injury?

week 4 is when all of us fans had Gronk coming back so now that its not week 4 the media is just coming up what BS stories to give the fans something to talk about and sale papers

For the life of me, I cannot understand why the Patriots continue to employ him. He must have nudes of Belichick and upper brass with altar boys because the guy is a quack.

This is a weird argument. It's like the opposite of what you'd expect from a team physician, where a player is self-interestedly worried about their long-term health but a team-employed physician clears a player per the wishes of the team. Yet the Patriots' physician seems to be more worried about the health of the player, therefore he is a quack. I tend to have low opinions of Rob Gronkowski's ability to determine his own health (or do math, or spell, or think...) so we should probably respect the physician's opinion here.

Again, though, it's better to have a healthy Gronk towards the end of the year then a healthy Gronk at the beginning and an ailing Gronk at the end as has been the case the last few years.

this might say more about you, than of one Robert Gronkowski ..

And now PFT has changed its story and now says that the Pats and Gronk are on the same page. They also have changed there story and talk about the benefits of having him practice this during this time, something he would not be doing if he was on the PUP.

Again, a story that is not a story.

And PFT has a whole lot of BS more

Patriots officially downgrade Gronkowski, Amendola to out | ProFootballTalk

The fact that home-team players rarely get downgraded from questionable to out reconfirms that team’s play games with the injury reports. (I know, you’re shocked.) The Patriots, who proclaimed that both players have an equal chance of playing and not playing just a day ago, were forced to concede that the players aren’t playing when they left them home.

The fact that the Patriots knew more than 24 hours before kickoff that the players couldn’t play suggests that the actual likelihood of the players playing was far closer to doubtful than questionable on Friday.

But all’s fair in love, war, and football, which coaches all too often love to compare to war when justifying methods that don’t necessarily comply with the letter or spirit of the rules.
WTF is the media these days. And these guys are "legitimized" by NBC.

will SOMEBODY please punch this jackazz who wrote this in his stupid mouth repeatedly....oh wowsers, what a revelation!!! real piece of genius journalism there..."spirit of the rules!!!!"...right, Patriots broke "the spirit of the rules!!!!"...hang 'em!!... Just once I'd like to have one of these turds in front of me...just ONCE.

newsflash, you insufferably inane goddamned nitwit....Roger Goondell has repeatedly TRAMPLED INTO DUST any "letter" or "spirit of the rules"....try focusing your beady little egomaniacal eyes on THIS total azzole's handling of the concussion problem in the NFL. He KNEW when he took over the depth of the brain injury problem and he's been blowing smoke up everybody's azz ever since with his phony "solutions" and "addresses" of the problem. Try LOOKING at this idiot's constant blathering about 18 games and "opening up the Euro market!!!"....this slimy piece of excrement could care less about broken bodies and shattered minds...who cares about used up assets?...nah...let's go screw the Patriots for leaving a guy home...that'll keep the waters plenty murky and the sky dark.

what a total jerkoff this Florio turd is...he's a pimp...nothing more.

I know this is the stalest of one-liners, but... please, Joker, tell us how you really feel :D

OK...yes...some transference going on with that post....I had just got in from a birthday dinner and narrowly escaped serious injury or even worse because some waste of DNA was driving in the high speed lane of 95 south jaw jacking on her cellphone and slamming her brakes on every other sentence...THE proto "can't walk to school and carry a lunch at the same time" moron. She narrowly missed causing a chain car pileup after veering in front of a semi in the 3rd lane and swerving back, almost broadsiding the poor guy in front of me. I had a 92 year old person in my car who had her life flash before her eyes...and this moron was STILL blabbing her high school head off as we drove by in the inner lane.

I'm sick of this crap every friggin' day. WHAT?????? What are you blabbing about that is so earth shatteringly important it can't wait until you pull into the mcDonald's parking lot to meet Peezy and Squeezy and the rest of the cheerleader squad?

It's just that it seems the BASIC intelligence to interact correctly in open public situations is becoming a lost art. Then I get in the door and read this bullcrap by Florwhorio...well...that's why you read a post like that...transference it's called, in psychology...you hate your wife so you kick the dog.

Apologies to any offended Florwhorio fans...or fan

This drama will disappear to never be remembered again the first time Gronk catches a TD this season.

"When you don't have a interesting story make one up" That is the watchword of most of the media these days, and the Herald in particular.

This is another typical non-story created by the media. Its right up there with the "story" that Brady was calling any vet WR with a pulse after game 2 to recruit them. In the end it was another miss by the media

The sad thing is within minutes this will be reported as FACT in outlets like PFT and ESPN, and it will be up to the Pats to disprove it.[/b ] A simple "no it didn't happen" will be totally ignored. Borges will have a field day with this. Be assured that he'll take every opportunity to use this story to promote his never ending agenda the Pats are somehow the real "evil empire"

I predicted way back on page one of this long road of journalistic frustration, that this full of ***** story would BECOME the story. And low and behold, every sports broadcast tonight led with the report that there IS some issues between the Pats and Gronk on his injury. NOT that there are possible issue, or reported issues. It was that there ARE issues.

Think about it. Who is the source. Here are a list of people it would be

BB, Caserio, the TE coach, the Doctor, the trainer, and Gronk.

These are the ONLY people who really know whats going on. Who amongst that group would tell the likes of Jeff Howe a story that could possible damage the team, cause a distraction the day before a game, and oh btw, risk losing their job. The answer is no one.

Kt was all made up speculation from the get go, and in the end that's all it was. Here's what gets my goat though. Jeff how makes up a story. He get quoted on multiple media outlets. His profile is upgraded, yet in the end when his pure speculation is PROVEN to be full of crap, there are NO consequences fro Howe.

These so called arbiters of virtue are free to judge others so publicly are so rarely held accountable that there is no reason for them to stop publishing more of the same crap down the road. In fact its just the OPPOSITE. Making it up as you go along is constantly rewarded.

And if you question it, you are labelled a "homer", or team mouthpiece, etc. Just look what happen to Volin when he dared question the journalistic ethics of the reporting in the infamous Rolling Stone article.l He was crushed by his own hypocritical brethren.

.....and so ends another early morning rant.

Florio is slime. He talks out both sides of his mouth. He bashes the Patriots incessantly on his stupid web site, then holds hands with Tom E. Curran on CSN's "Quick Slants." I honestly don't understand why NBC "legitimized" this arsehole.
Thank you. I was just about to write virtually the same thing about Slants. What freaking hypocrite.

Let's not canonize Volin either. Saturday at 4:50 pm (more than 3.5 hours after the 1:14pm report from Schefter on ESPN that they had been ruled out):

Using our favorite person that "league source".
