LaRon Landry not a fan of Bill Belichick

I never said the Patriots run a "perfect" organization. The Jet organization and its fanbase can hardly be called one that says "slightly" negative things about the Patriots...I guess you'd have to be here and experience the constant avalanche of Jet pressers from the head coach on down that mock, deride and demean the Patriots organization, coaches and players.

Personally, I was never a fan of the Patriots even TALKING to LeRon Landry...so it's funny to me that you are so hacked off at BB for not being around when LeRan blew through town.

Well I never sad I was 'hacked off'...I even went as far as to say It may have been a better omen...if he passed his physical without concern then we'd have offered him a contract I'm pretty sure.

Just because I'm in the UK, you think I don't read the local media, listen to the local radio, watch sports center? There's a wonderful invention called the Internet and a lovely channel over here called ESPN America...as well as NFL Total Access aired on sky sports. I know full well how the Jets like to run their mouths.

What I find laughable is Landry says he is a bit miffed as to why BB wasn't there and it would have affected his decision; he's running his mouth (which IMO he isn't). Sanders comes in and says says he's going to use being cut as motivation and everyone is all, 'fair play to the guy'. IMO, neither was running their mouths.

The headline reads that he doesn't respect Belichick, when he says no such thing at all. You fell for...as did everyone else..a bogus headline written by an NBC writer and, let's face it, they aren't renound for their great write ups on the NFL.

Joker, hey, the average Jets' GG poster is both evidence of our failing education system and evidence that having nothing intelligent to say can sometimes mean you should say more. But in fairness to them the Patriots win so much there is bound to be irrational hatred spouted off. The Jets just appear to make it part of their MO to spout off (a Rexy trait that has trickled down?). If it was the other way around and the Jets were constantly on top for almost 10 years straight (and the Patriots were constantly looking up at the Jets), Patriot fans would probably have a far greater vocal hatred of the Jets. So maybe you can cut them some slack? With that said, I agree with ya :)

Is there a story here except that Landry lacks savvy? Getting on a plane and visiting the Patriots (whether BB is there or not) is part of the process to get the best deal possible. Wouldn't surprise me at all if behind the scenes his agent got the Patriots to agree to a pro forma meeting simply to whet the appetite of the Jets/other more seemingly serious suitors.

I guess the one question I would like to find out, does the HC always meet with all free agent visitors? Or at least all veteran FA visitors?

Are we playing the Jets and the Cards this week? There is basically no reason for Landry to be talking about the Patriots or Belichick this week. That's why people are saying he is running his mouth off. Even so, I think it could even be overlooked if it was in isolation but you put him on the Jets where ever other week a player or coach comments on the Patriots and it all just becomes part of the same cacophony of New Jersey trash talk that we have grown to expect from that loud mouth organization.

Belichick was there. He was in disguise.

==============================================

I was born here 50 years ago, PM me if you want to hook up for a Jets Vs Pats game some time.

Joker, if you want to came also I will bring my lap top and you can join in Via Skype.

I'm not sure that Ian wants to sponsor a hookup site, guys

one man's "beastin'!" is another man's "leastin!"....

That's one of those line where I have no idea what it means but it sure sounds good. You should go into Politics!

Tonnes of cases on ths thread where people got caught up in the headline rather than what was actually said.

Why are Pats fans so sensitive?

He just said why he wouldn't have wanted to opt for the Patriots. I would think that if you're that serious about signing a player, the HC would in fact be there.

I don't think anyone here is very sensitive about LaRon. It's more about what a fool his comments suggest he is.

Landry is a guy coming off of consecutive 9 and 8 game seasons with trips to the IR and PUP list. Belichick would let his D and Position coaches take a look at him before he'd get involved himself. Landry probably forgets that it's five years since he was a first round pick and a wunderkind. Now he's one more player trying to show that he still has it to play at a high level...or at all in the NFL.

Invites landry for a visit then then does not show up to meet with him?

Is this the standard for Belicheck?

Only with players he intends to jack up the price for the Jets cap.

=============================================

Sure, haters goin to hate, I am not even the biggest fan of Landry the man, and the odds are slim the Jets get a full season out of him, but the guy has game.

You just answered your own question.

Can't win a game from the trainer's table.

Any more arguments?

The HC wasn't there, that felt like a slap in the face, i feel the HC should be there.....yeah, 'running' his mouth

In September, a Jets player runs to a media member and complains about being disrespected and ignored by the HC of a team he doesn't face for another 6 weeks.

......and you're stating that the "sensitive" party is PATS FANS????????

Gee, I guess the unwound stalker in Fatal Attraction was actually Michael Douglas and not Sharon Stone after all! :D :D :D

Thanks for the clarification, UK.

You fail to notice one very important difference.

Sanders is talking about a team he's playing THIS week.

Landry is talking about a team he doesn't play for a month and a half.

James Sanders is a Patriot type player who focuses on the current opponent.

At this point, it should be pretty clear, UK.

The funny thing is that Fitzpatrick INTs other than one had nothing to do with the Jets' defense. On the Kyle Wilson INT, Wilson was absolutely smoked by the receiver. He was a good 2-4 steps behind the receiver, but unfortunately for the Bills, so was Fitzpatrick's pass. If Fitzpatrick was on target, it would have been a huge gainer.

On the Cromartie INT, it was another case of a poor throw with no pressure. It was such a bad throw that it looked like Fitzpatrick intentionally tried to target Cromartie.

The Revis INT was a great play by Revis, but still another horrible pass by Fitzpatrick with no pressure on him.

One of the few shows on the NFLN that I watch is called Playbook. They went over that last INT and showed that Fitzpatrick did a double pump that caused the INT.

Only when he wants a division rival to think he wants the player. Sometimes it works.

The comment by Landry shows that he's in the same boat as some Jest fans. He sounds like a jilted lover.

Landry is talking about a team he doesn't play for a month and a half.

Some times you guys drive me crazy.

You make it sound like Landry called a press conference and gave a speech he titled 'Why I don't like the Patriots.'

The reality is someone probably asked him 'You had a lot of teams to choose from including New England, why did you end up choosing the Jets?'

And he answered. His answer wasn't insulting to the Patriots. Not any more than a draft pick saying 'They passed on me so now I want to play my best against them.', in reality.

There's nothing wrong with what Landry said and it was 100% guaranteed a response to a reporters question not something he offered up so it's not like he's out there running his mouth about the Pats.

Will do, tnx Gun,

I've watched many games with my family via skype, it's good fun.

Before my son got his NFL game pass in Korea, we watched a Pats game "together" with me facing the skype camera to the TV here. While we both watched the game, we could comment like we were sitting on a couch together.

I remember arguing with someone many years ago about the ability some day to talk to someone as you looked at a video of them. I never thought it we be so easy.

If you notice, UK...NO Pats fans, no Pats players, no Pats coaches,no Pats owners, no Pats PERIOD are running their big mouths in the press...this idiot is shooting off his mouth trying to get media face time and he's USING the Patriots in a negative way to get that face time he craves so much...since he IS bordering on a bust of major proportions if he cannot stay healthy.

That WILL get a response from the fanbase here ...mainly because of the constant avalanche of near braindead Jet coaches, players and fans opinions of the Patriots, no matter what month or day it is. I'm sure there is ONE British equivalent...a team that is constantly horrible yet always yapping, whose fans are thuggish idiots and who play to the Fleet Street back pages.

Look what you did UK. You took the joke out of joker. Shame on you.;);)
