It is important to me that Vereen looked good when given the opportunity. He will be part of the mix. We now have the 3 running backs who will get almost all the reps, even with one injury. Josh will have run figuring out how to best integrate our 3 running backs into our passing offense.
What is much more interesting to me is what we do with the rest of RB's and FB's. 0-2 of the current group could make the team, and I think the competition is wide open. Of course, Belichick might still bring in a veteran #4 and/or #5 as he has in the past.
Star performer. Running back Shane Vereen. The second-year man continues to see more reps and looks to be building confidence as well. He is a threat as a receiver. Honorable mention goes to Logan Mankins.

Are you a big "Star Wars" fan?
Have ever been to the "Star Wars" convention?
As an excuse to go to the Tampa game next Friday, pfip jr. gets to go to the convention on Saturday.
Makings of the next Kevin Faulk? Vereen needs to get a bit stronger and work like the devil on blitz pickup. Everything else is there.
It's all starting to make a lot more sense.
Yeah, that's what's expected.
The starters better play a half next Friday.
I'll gladly take a combined Stewart-Williams Panthers 2009 season from Ridley and Vereen in 2012. :rocker:

I am about as big as Star Wars fan as there is and I would go punch for punch with the Geeks at the convention with the stupid things I know about the saga but I never gone to a convention. Its not that I ashamed as all my friends know how crazy I am with Star Wars I just dont really get wanting to dress up like that but if I ever went I probably would enjoy it a lot.
Vereen catches, runs well. With Stevan Ridley nursing an injury and taking in practice from the sidelines, the window opened for Shane Vereen to receive an extensive workload. He had yet another productive day overall, particularly catching the football and moving in space. The Vereen we've seen in recent days is the one many anticipated he would be when he was drafted in the second round in 2011.
