If this has any truth to it, could there be a scenario in which the Patriots actually discussed a contract with Randy (at a level below his current pay) and they are pulling a Deion Branch right now (allowing Randy to see what his market value is with a team that is so obviously a good fit and a bit desperate)?

If so, Randy might realize that his best bet is to play out the string for the Patriots.

ESPN said that Farve always wanted Moss, even when Moss was a Raider. I think Farve is lobbying full-time to get Moss onboard. This may be Farve's last chance, so he may want all the weapons he can get.

Who knows, if Vikings are really desparate, they may offer a 2nd-rounder (2011/2012).

Just heard ESPN said the compensation (Patriots) is very close. I guess if so, the next step is for Moss to negotiate a contract ($9m/yr..).

If he is gone, they will double-team Welker, which is Brady's blanky..

They double team Welker now. Usually with a safety/Nickel corner on top and a LB underneath.

The difference would be he would command the other teams best CB.
