When Brady chose to throw a long bomb to aiken on 2nd down at the end of the 4th to try to close the game out is one of the major problems we've had this season. better decision making needs to happen. Brady needs to take what the defense gives them. I would have like 3rd and very short alot better than 2nd and long on that series. shortly thereafter we were forced to punt.

i've seen improvement in more calculated drives but they still have moments of trying to swing for a homerun at ill advised times.

this attempt pretty much summed up the season IMO

Plays like this setup other plays ... if you don't stretch the field then it will be 8 in the box on defense for most of the game. Some people in this forum calling for Weis to come back ... Charlie was a master at running seemingly useless plays to setup other plays - they all do it.

I think thats what the defense gave Brady and thats who the open guy was. It wasnt a forced throw by any means. I actually thought Aiken could have caught that ball and also PI could have been called

I agree. It was a fine call and should have resulted in a first down and a big play.

Re: Long missed bomb to Aiken at the end of the 4th.

The deep ball just hasn't been there consistently this year but as we start to run the ball consistently it will come along just in time for the playoffs, granted Brady doesn't over/under throw the receiver like hes been doing recently.

Re: Long missed bomb to Aiken at the end of the 4th.

The throw was on target and should have been caught, so I don't see any real problem with the decision making on the play.

Horrible non-call by the ref who was right there

Re: Long missed bomb to Aiken at the end of the 4th.

Long Bombs and the resulting penalties helped win us this game....I am so mad at you people

yep...the pass hit his hands...obviously his worst asset..there was blatant PI on the play but an NFL receiver has to make that catch.

Nothing wrong with the play in isolation, though i don't expectanything we do will make defenses respect Aiken as a long threat.

He is who he is.

I was at the game and had a perfect view of the whole field, and indeed this was the case. That was the only place he could throw that ball as the Bills were playing underneath and rushing 3 guys.

That being said, I'm not highly confident in Aiken, and almost feel like we're playing with a hand tied behind our back. That incompletion killed the drive.

That's because he is a special team masquerading as a receiver due to our ****house receiving depth.

Galloway or Lewis would have helped.

They would have??? Is Joey still in the league? Have you been so impressed with Greg Lewis's 7 catches this year, that you think he would make a difference? Look, we rolled the dice on Joey and it came up snake eyes. Lewis is a jag who does some things better and some things worse than Aiken. It's not every year that a talent like Donte Stallworth is going to be your 3rd WR. On the other hand, Watson and Faulk are fine receiving threats that are going unused. That's probably the fault of Brady and the OC.

You're right, we're better off with Brady throwing those deep balls to Aiken.

Indeed.... Galloway had 7 catches in 2 games, but got cut, while Aiken has 17 catches in 9 games.

I'm sorry, did you have a point? Those other two guys are not getting any run in the league. Joey has made 0 plays this year, Greg Lewis made 1, and Sam Aiken made 2. So, it looks like we have the best of three crappy WRs.

Galloway is a better receiver than Aiken and so is Lewis. Numbers don't tell the entire story. But go ahead and believe that Aiken is better than those other guys.

Why Galloway isn't getting any run? No clue. But the one game he had against the Jets, where he beat his coverage, got open, caught six passes, and also have Brady under throw him for a would be TD showed enough to tell me that he is a better WR than Aiken.

Also, Lewis is stuck behind some good receivers in Minnesota. While we only have two legit WRs here, the Vikings have Berian, Rice, and Harvin plus a TE that they utilize.

This is a really tough one. Who to believe, who to believe.

Pats made a personnel move and chose X player over Y & Z player. So, X player must be better.

Sometimes that logic works, other times it doesn't.
