Specialist assured Favre that shoulder is 'OK' - NFL - Yahoo! Sports
check this out. apparentlyhe wasnt sure about his shoulder at the beginning of camp and want to give the vikings 100% of what they were paying for. 2-3 weeks later the doctors assured him he is okay.
what a load of crap. Why didnt he say about the arm 3 weeks go. ? at least be honest about not wanting to be in camp.
i dont know how everyone like warren sapp are putting the vikes in the superbowl.

I read somewhere that the Vikes' passing offence is the most basic in the NFL and is way below the required standards of complexity. I'm not quite sure how a gunslinger at the end of his career is going to resolve that.

i thought childress said its a kickass offense...

No, he said BB said it was a kickass offense, right after he "stole" our draft pick right out from under us! ;)

No rob, I don't think he got the memo! Lol My guess is he's prob mad lots of people rank favre ahead of his boyfriend John Elway due to the numbers that favre compiled Emmitt smith style

this is the best reaction i read

Aaron Rodgers, who inherited the starting quarterback position after Favre retired -- then unretired -- said, "I don't have a reaction," the Journal Sentinel reported. "It doesn't pertain to me. It has absolutely nothing to do with me. It doesn't change anything. It has nothing to do with the Green Bay Packers."

Right after the Michael Vick story has basically reached his its off-season peak, Favre takes over.

A lot better for the NFL that people are now talking about Favre instead of Vick.

The funny thing is that I'm not even remotely surprised. I would have been surprised if something like this hadn't happened.

At this point, I think Favre just doesn't want to have to do full training camps.

Looking at Minnesota's schedule it is very favorable. Really good shot at starting out 5-0. It's too bad they just guaranteed themselves a playoff loss despite whatever success they have in the regular season.

Yeah, but that's Minnesota's MO anyway. Fast start, crumble at the end. They should definitely be used to it.

Sort of like Footballs version of Feta Cheese?

I think it's hilarious when most of you consider Curran a moron for saying such things like, "Brady could be out all of 2009 with a setback" and Peter King an idiot for saying much the same exact things then turn around when their opinion is spot on with your's and consider their writings gospel.

All I'm saying is that Favre makes Minnesota's offense more dangerous to the opponent than Jackson or Rosenfels would have. If you can't agree with that then I don't know what to tell you. And keep in mind that this is coming from someone (me) who now hates Favre's guts.

More dangerous, yes, but also more turnover-prone. On the net, he improves the Vikes, but only because the QBs that they had were so bad.

Well of course they're going to be more turnover-prone. It's Brett Favre throwing the football. :D Minnesota's defense is good enough to offset some of those turnovers. It won't completely kill them like it did the Jets. I think, for Childress and the Vikings, they know what they have coming in there. They're bringing him in simply because defenses won't be able to stack the box against Peterson anymore (who, despite said stacking, almost ripped off 1,800 yards last season).

Re: OT: Reports: Favre on Vikings plane headed for Minnesota, rumored to join team to

Can the NFL just give him a parade, 3 hour TV special, induct him into the HOF early and retire the number 4 from ever being used again by any team so he will get the send off he feels he is entitled to and just finally retire? I understand loving the game, he officially retired twice, this is getting a little out of hand.

How 'bout we just retire the name Favre. No one can ever wear that name on an NFL jersey again. That might soothe his over-inflated ego. He's the kind of self-absored ego-maniacal dutchbag that would have hard time rooting for his kids to out-acheive him. Leave #4 around for Vinatraitor. I was BS when he signed with Indy, but what he did while he was here.....Besides, I don't want a #4 anywhere in our stadium commemerating that guy. He ain't no Jackie Robinson.

Vikings fan here - I hate Favre. It's going to be tough for me to route for him. Jackson did well towards the end of last season and I was really hoping he would start for the team this year. Looking at the stats over the last 5 years, Favre never finishes the season strong. He always falls apart. He couldn't throw a deep ball to save his life last year (something like 1 TD and 9 INT's on throws over 35 yards) so how do we expect him to get 8 out of the box?

Everyone saying that the Vikings offense is more turnover prone now, remember we had Gus Frerotte last year. So it's still an improvement. lol
