According to various reports, this is who the team has parted ways with so far, although it’s possible we could see one or more of them back on the practice squad before the dust settles.

Today is a big day for quite a few players as the NFL cut down deadline will see teams reduce their rosters from 80 down to 53 by 4pm ET.

The injuries to Tyquan Thornton and Kristian Wilkerson’s concussion necessitate two veterans being cut so they can short-term IR these 2 players, then re-sign these vets. 

The Patriots did not look good on offense or defense and the starting offense is in shambles.

Even though the Patriots have a brutal first four games on their schedule (road games at Miami, Pittsburgh and Green Bay, and a home date with Baltimore), the Patriots could go 2-2 here and be in good shape moving forward.

Some observations and thoughts from the New England Patriots’ preseason finale out in the desert against the Las Vegas Raiders

The Patriots have had two productive days of practice against the Raiders, an obviously superior team at this time.  I want to see how the Patriots respond after they were knocked around by Las Vegas. 

The Patriots held their first joint practice against the Raiders on Tuesday and ended up with a difficult test that they apparently had a tough time with. 

With the New England Patriots now in their final week of the preseason, there have been a couple of trade rumors floating around regarding a couple of key names on offense.

We start where we left off last week.  The 1st joint practice was extensively covered.

While New England Patriots QB Mac Jones finished the night just 4-of-8 for 61-yards, the numbers don’t necessarily tell the whole story.

The Patriots seem to be no stranger when it comes to being unlucky with injuries, and Friday night’s battle against Carolina ended up seeing them come away with another one during the team’s 20-13 win over the Panthers at Gillette Stadium.

The Patriot defense did a good job in keeping Matt Corral, the third string quarterback at the moment for Carolina, holding him to 58 yards passing and 9 of 15 passing.

This is an accumulation of observations of the last two practices.  The Joint practice was especially lively and dominated by the Patriots’ Defense.

Some bad news for veteran defensive back Malcolm Butler, who saw his comeback season come to an end before it really got started.
