Former Pats OL and Coach Guy Morriss Passes Away

The New England Patriots announced via a press release on Wednesday that former offensive lineman and assistant offensive line coach Guy Morriss passed away at age 71.
According to reports, Morriss was battling Alzheimer’s since 2016.
Morriss spent 15 seasons in the NFL as an offensive lineman with the Philadelphia Eagles (1973-83) and the New England Patriots (1984-87).
In 1985, Morriss was a member of the Patriots first AFC Championship team that advanced to Super Bowl XX and the Eagles NFC title in 1980.
A second round draft pick of the Eagles in 1973 out of Texas Christian University, Morriss played in 217 regular season NFL games.
Following his playing career, Morriss entering coaching, first as an assistant offensive line coach with New England in 1988 and 1989. He coached in college for numerous schools, including serving as the head coach of Kentucky (2001-02) and Baylor (2003-07).
