you're not going to like this : Hail Mary PI on Hogan

Oh goodness.....

Refs kept the whistles in the pockets last night for sure.

That would be illegal contact?

It’d only push the ball up 5 yards, basically would lead to another Hail Mary.

The PI there wasn’t significant for the play result anyways, we had a shot at the ball anyway and we couldn’t quite come down with it.

It's ovah

They were probably coached to be aggressive on taking any sort of penalty that isn't PI. Kind of like what Coughlin had his teams do at the end of those super bowls.

EDIT: Not PI but should have had another play......just sayin'

Saw it during the replay....you can hear collinsneck pause as he is surprised but with goodell’s henchmen already showing signs earlier in the game, this was minor.

The eagles oline spparently never held either. Comical.

The ertz pick play earlier was also comical, outside of the clement td that so obviously was not.

Eagles d was not very impressive, by the way. All we heard how great fletcher cox and company were. Overrated all year. Our d needed one stop somewhere in there and it never happened. Our slow starts kill us in these super bowls.

It was a good play. At worst it costs you 5 yards. You generally want to set up a Hail Mary so you have a jump ball guy in the front of the end zone and speedier guys spilling out the back to grab any garbage that tips off. Amendola wasn't fast enough to get behind the defense and he couldn't fight through traffic for the ball even though it actually was an ideal scenario. Hogan may have been able to get around back if he hadn't been knocked off. That's a place where Cooks' absence was felt, but even in ideal circumstances you're talking about a play that maybe works 1-in-20 times.

They held constantly and had a million potential penalties that were not called. I was disappointed because I thought that was supposed the best ref crew

I might cry two tears in a bucket. **** it, let’s take it to the stage.

no doubt......but that's absolutely a penalty, right?

Yes. But the Patriots absolutely got away with calls vs the Jags too.

Bill Belichick needs to answer to Robert Kraft ( if he hasn't ) why Butler wasn't in the game.

it's not a good play because it gives the offense 2 shots at a hail mary td. Dumb play, especially making it so obvious

Their D at least made a play when it counted. Ours didn’t. So that’s that.

Troll

Nope sorry. Not blaming the refs on this one. I'm simply not. The Eagles were better prepared & coached.

No one is blaming the refs, just showing why the pats have had to beat the refs and the other team for yesrs. When they fight through it and win like jax and lewis’s “fumble” or the clement “catch with two feet down”, everyone forgets these things, but they are critical moments in games with rules changed during the game right in front of everyone.

Pi, holding, illegal contact are the only real subjective calls in the sport. Then again, we lost a gam pe this year on an “illegal hands to face” with a gilmore finger graze on benjamin in the other side of the field, so we sort of continue to experience it all.

The fact is, you expect funny business when the game is close, if the call can be “hidden”.

Pretty bad giving a team a free td, but no one cares because it helped the other team.

Happened twice in 2013 to help gomer get home field.

Never, ever, EVER gonna get a PI call, on either side of the ball, in that situation.
