Patriots Player Departure WR Tyquan Thornton Released; 2022 2nd round draft bust

Interesting in the sense that the Chiefs picked Skyy Moore a couple picks later. And Moore has been as big of a bust as Tyquan. I wonder if that's who the Patriots jumped to take Tyquan, because the Chiefs were looking for a Tyreek Hill replacement that year.

I always assumed it was the Steelers because Tyquan's former WR coach at Baylor became the Steelers WR coach a couple of years prior to the draft.

In retrospect, it may have been KC that wanted him.
KC didn’t want Sky Moore or Thornton…they wanted Pickens!!! Pitt couldn’t believe when the patriots passed on an SEC stud for a mediocre frail twig from Baylor. They jumped for joy and quick picked Pickens. KC would not have passed on Pickens had he made it to them

OK, what are you basing this on?

These people have intel.

You say KC wouldn't have passed on a stud WR and yet KC chose Mecole Hardman over DK Metcalf. They chose Skyy Moore as well, another bust.

They love fast guys. This is why they keep trying with Moore and Hardman and Xavier Worthy. They are trying to reproduce Tyreek.

One thing Patriot fans never mention when it comes to Metcalf or AJ Brown is that 5 WRs were chosen before Metcalf that ended up busting.

And people always say we should have taken AJ Brown instead of Harry. As though that was the only way to get AJ Brown. Few people even mention that we took JoeJuan Williams BEFORE both AJ Brown and Metcalf. We could have had both of them!!!!! Both Brown and Metcalf went pretty late in the round.

A month or so ago I posted that T.T. would land in KC and probably go onto 40+ receptions and be a hero in the next Super Bowl. But the fact that we need to remember when/if this scenario ever plays out - he would have *NEVAH* been nothing but a “One Catch Wonder” with us….

For all his so called speed Thornton doesn't even have a 50yds career long. We should have never drafted him where we did from a Mickey mouse program.

Well, I mean, Baylor was 12-2 and won the Sugar Bowl over the runner-up in the SEC.

They finished ranked 6th in the country.

But the B12 plays no defense, so all their WRs look like All-Stars, then they come to the NFL and bust. Stay away (Tetaroa and Travis Hunter are both in the B12, by the way).

Heh.

You can't reach what Tetaro McMillan got "size and speed"... regarding PrimeTime pt.II we could always move Him to CB which is also a need.

In the 5TH round, maybe.

Cool story and who was their QB that made it possible?

And that is why I know you know nothing about football. It was all Brady!

Brady leaves and the winning goes with him and stops in its tracks here. Must be just a coincidence.

Funny how that works... kinda like years of wretched drafting leaving the roster almost devoid of talent as shown on that chart.

Brady tackled, covered receivers, blocked, ran the ball, passed and caught the ball, along with all the gameplanning. It's crazy that he didn't win 19 SBs in NE.

Way more room for error in the organization (and there were plenty) when the GOAT QB is on your side. That is indisputable.
