Would You Have Bill Back If:

Resurrecting from the dead…old world of Warcraft term…ie bill and scar being no longer here, as in dead….and bringing them back…to life.

Jonathan didn't want him when he was here, then made a documentary suggesting he had nothing to do with two decades of success after firing him. That ship has sailed and caught fire out on the open sea.

We've also seen BB with Wolf as the defacto GM... it didn't work. So it would have to be a personnel guy Bill wanted to work with and respected.

Wolf has never been the defacto GM at any time when Bill was in NE.

#Collaboration

I think the Patriots are being run in the same manner as many corporations these days. "Management experience" and "leadership" are considered by the MBA/consultant class to be fungible skills that can easily be transferred from one business to another. Mayo may have exhibited some of these skills as a player and during his time in the business world, to the point where the Krafts thought he could be successful, despite having zero experience as a coordinator or head coach. It might work, but I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't.

I'd be open to bringing back Bill as coach only. Hire a GM with control over personnel who likes WRs and o-linemen. Bring back Josh to work with Maye.

Good post. I suspect he'll be as successful as Wolf, Van Pelt and Covington allow him to be. Philly runs a similar power structure.

Doug Pederson looked like an offensive genius and Philly built a statue outside the stadium of the guy, a year after Frank Reich stops coaching his offense and Doug gets fired.

Next man up Nick Sirianni looked like the next great Philly coach, a year after Shane Steichen leaves the offense and Jonathan Gannon stops coaching the defense and now we're talking about firing him.

Collaboration can work, the individual parts of the collaboration have to be good at their jobs.

I can't see Belichick ever working for Kraft after how Kraft undercut him the last year he was here.

I can see Bill go for a job with an already established QB and team that just needs some fine tuning to be a contender. I was watching the Bengals and how badly Taylor mismanaged the game in the end that cost them the win. Belichick with the Bengals and Burrow would be pretty good. QBs and receivers are already in place, they just need to play better defense and to be better situationally, something Belichick is really good at.

I honestly thought they’d hire some young guys. Think kingsbury or kid shanny. /sadface . Then again it wouldn’t have mattered I think.

Along those lines, I think he would be a great coach upstairs, maybe for one of his ex-assistants or players, e.g., Vrabel. His ability to dissect plays in near-real time would be a huge benefit, as well as his game management skills. Maybe a part-time gig, without all the headaches of being a GM or head coach.

I could see him taking the Ernie Adams role for one of his kids if they ever become a HC.

It's time to move on, from ownership on down

I'd have Bill Back if it were 2014.

The Main Forum is exactly where such things are posted. And yet, you don't even use your vast intelligence and omnipotent insight to be helpful and tell me what Forum it belongs in? Moron! Actually, I apologize. Calling you that is an insult to the Moron Community. I'm not one to call people names, but, for you, I'm making an exception. Everyone else on here is participating and giving their take. But, there's always one that needs to try and prove their intellectual superiority (which you in this case clearly lack). Lastly, instead of *****ing and making no relevant contribution, start your own Thread. And by all means, please put it in the appropriate Forum.
I’m laughing and imagining you having to type this all out … thanks man …this is the **** that keeps me sane !!! lol

I would take Bill back in a heartbeat

I was hoping for Mike Vrabel for the same reason I like Mayo. They're former Patriot players.

I read somewhere that maybe the owners want more manageable HC's like Mayo than strong willed guys like Vrabel. I could see that being the case with Kraft.

I still think it's too early to claim that the whole regime is a disaster though. They don't have enough players.
Oh no .. they do most certainly have the correct amount of players, it’s the quality of the players and the coaching that’s a little lacking …

Wondering who is the coach at Foxboro high this year …
