the pats went undeated or went to the SB ?I dont think so. Watching the colts game and the officiating conspiracy theories iam wary of the upcoming games. The league would do anything to keep the out of a perfect season or the SB. iam not making excuses up front. if we lose fair and square so be it...but right now the 'evil' team winning must be killing goodell .
Any thoughts ?

yeah, it think it would kill him even more if we go undefeated, win the SB, and end up with the #4 overall pick in the draft!

I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath. Goodell is not going to order the officials to make bad calls against the Patriots, I think we all need to relax and not be so paranoid.

And really, think about it. An undefeated Patriots team going against, say, the Cowboys in the SB? That is a dream matchup for the NFL. An absolute dream. And an undefeated storyline is good for the NFL in this otherwise mostly putrid and boring season. I really don't think Goodell is gnashing his teeth over it, it's probably the opposite.

While the Cowboys are as good as a guess as anyone in a wide-open NFC, I am guessing the Packers make it.

I agree 100%. As much Good and Bad press we've generated this season, we've also provided significant deoderant for some really sh!tty NFL producuts beeing trotted out each week.

Did ANYONE watch ATL vs. SF? The only people that gave a **** about that game was US, and only cuz SF's demise gives us a better pick.

Ideally, I think the NFL wants teams to rise and fall like the Whack-a-mole game. Rise long enough to capture the attention of casual fans and make them keep an eye on them lest they rise up again.

But, if they stay up for too long, then everyone just wants to tee off on it. They exception being is if the mole stays up indefinately, then you recruit people for a strength test. Who can ring the bell?

If something truly great comes along (2007 Pats?), then it becomes a spectacle capable of the same results. People watch for the sake of history.

The one that really concerns me is the last game of the reg season. Another Manning and as we know the SB they really want is Manning v Manning and an 8:15 kick off.

I can't wait to see Goodell hand that SB trophy over to Belichick. I can picture the smirk on BB's face already, bwahaha

I'm not suggesting vile measures will be taken, but I think Goodell considers it a black eye for the NFL if the Pats win the Super Bowl, let alone go undefeated in the process.

Good thing we have Bob Kraft on our side.

The networks have already voted...and CBS, NBC, and NFLN are all on this Pats bandwagon. People want to experience greatness, and Networks are jumping all over each other trying to get a piece of the Pats. Too many story lines to ignore...the evil Patriots undefeated in a Superbowl will be the greatest thing to happen to the NFL...add in Brett Favre or the Cowboys ...and we have must see TV.

Ideally, I think they want the Colts to comeback from injury, blah, blah, and defeat the forces of evil in the playoffs.
Then square off against Favre in the SB.

Are you kidding me? NFL loves undefeated Patriots! They bring all the ratings now! Look from now one every crappy game Patriots play (e.g. vs Miami or the Rats), could be put in primetime! why? because alot of people want to be part of Patriots either finally losing their first game or winning one more game to stay undefeated! Good team are good for the league. Proof: rating for the 2 games this year that topped all the charts (hint: Patriots played in both of them)
