Worst and Best drafted players by BB era and FO in New England

Best would have to be Seymour
Luckiest would have to be Wilfork
Worst would have to be Jackson, especially considering we traded UP to get the guy. This has to be his breakout year or he could be the next Hart Lee Dykes.

In the BB era who was the very worst and very best draft choices ever? - The players must have been chosen in the first 3 rounds since those players were coveted much more than bottom tier draftees so Tom Brady does NOT count, besides we know he was best ever and theres no one even close but lets just say top 3 rounds.....

1 - worst ever and 1 best ever only.....

BEST EVER - VINCE WILFORK - A durable and good nose tackle is probably the hardest to find in the draft - New England struck gold here even though Wilfork will never be a true pass rusher and with his size he does not need to be,Just needs to hold up the middle of the front 7.

WORST EVER - ADRIAN KLEMM - Was supposed to be the next great offensive lineman in New England history but came nowhere near his potential - a true worthless #1 pick in 2000 (FYI was #1 drafted pick in 2nd round in 2000 since #1 round pick was given to the Jets for BBs arrival - maybe the best non player trade ever in NFL history)

Your picks?
Klemm isn't even close to being the worst first-day pick of the BB/SP era. At least he was drafted right about where he was expected to go.

The worst-ever candidates:
CB Brock Williams (2001)
WR Bethel Johnson (2003)
FS Guss Scott (2004)

Dishonorable mention:
OL Kenyatta Jones (2001) - the FO threw away a 5th-rounder in order to take him with the first pick of the 4th round.

Possible future candidates:
Bennie Watson (2004)
Stomper Meriweather (2007)

Guss Scott was just horrific. I didn't like the pick when we took him, and I never liked the guy when he was anywhere near the field.

Best pick has to be either Seymour or Mankins. I don't think either of those guys had all that much hype as compared to many of the players many Patriots fans were hoping for. The front office knew that those players fit the system and were great players.

Meriweather? Did you watch the last season or are you just going off of him not having a 13 interception season as a rookie safety on a perfect team? Meriweather played very well, especially down the stretch.

'A Perfect team' is not the word relating to the NE Pats in 2007 unless you are only referring to the regular season - 18-1 as a final record is NOT perfect so lets not stretch it shall we? - A superb team yes, - Perfect?,Not quite

A perfect regular season. Something that only 2 other teams have done in the history of the league.

No, not perfect over-all, but actually better than the Dolphins 1972 season, when its boiled down.
