I prefer a taller FA CB like Gilmore to avoid the learning curve with so many new CBs in the secondary.
i have thrown the name bradberry in the off-season thread or somewhere else, he is listed at 6'1 and 210, had a really good season and younger than gilmore
maybe a 2-3 year deal or sth. would be great at outside cb opposing jack jones
then edmunds and payne and our defense looks really good imo
OTs go fast in the draft. Hopefully a plug-and-play OT in Rd. 1 #14, and a developmental guy in Rd 3 or early Rd 4. I would support an OT in Rd 1 and 2.
i would love that
This is totally correct.

This would be GREAT!!!

Can you imagine Payne and Barmore pushing the pocket? WOW!

I hear ya, though Mills has spent time in camp and elsewhere at safety as well so he can flex a bit.

CB: Jon Jones - Jack Jones - Marcus Jones - drafted CB - Tae Hayes - Myles Bryant
FS: Mills - DMac for 1 year - Duron Harmon - drafted FS
SS: Dugger - Phillips - Peppers - Bledsoe

Don't ignore the kid, Randle, they just signed from the CFL. However, don't believe the idea that he is 6'. Here is info from his Pro-Day in 2019:

College: LAMAR

Height: 5'8 6/8
Weight : 184
Hand: 8 3/8"
Arm: 30.5"
Wingspan: 71.5"

40: 4.20
20: 2.63
10: 1.40
Bench: 11
Vert: 41"
Broad: 10'10"

20 yd shuttle: 4.08
3 cone: 7.26

Could he have had a late growth spurt to be closer to 6'? Sure. But not likely.

3cone = 7.26 secc and under 5'9"? He is a straight line guy.

Quandre Mosely is another guy who could be intriguing. Listed as a CB/FS.

College: Kentucky

Height: 6'0 6/8
Weight : 185
Hand: 9 5/8"
Arm: 32 5/8"
Wingspan: 79 1/4"

40: 4.40 (supposedly ran 4.32 on one watch)
20: 2.55
10: 1.62
Bench: 9
Vert: 36"
Broad: 10'01"

20 yd shuttle: 4.32
3 cone: 6.89

Bradberry is definitely one I have looked at, he turned it around in Philly this year. Jonathan Jones obviously is good but it might be wiser to spend your free agent dollars on a CB of a different type if you're going to spend. Flesh out your CB room, Edmunds would definitely be a great signing that also weakens Buffalo. Maybe they could get in on Jordan Poyer too?

agreed,
poyer is my number 1option to replace dmac if he retires
imagine signing two studs from buffalo

Right? Lol that'd really be something. Sign Edmunds and Poyer, trade for Hopkins, then draft a top CB with #14 and otherwise use most of your picks on offense (OT, WR, TE)

this would really get me pumped for next season if we also get competent offense coaches

When have the Patriots ever made moves that make sense?

Watch BB draft the next N'Keal Harry or another guard in the 1st round, and thumb his nose at the draftniks yet again.

2023 is the year where BB really needs to start using that big brain of his to make the right moves instead of just 'outsmarting' the NFL by making moves nobody expects.

Edmunds and Payne would remake this defense. Bradberry for J Jones might be a good trade as well as we have other fast smurf CBs. That would be a huge improvement. Beyond that Poyer is an option, but at 31 I am not sure we want him for 4 years, since we was not really fast to start with. I would prefer Edmunds, Payne and Bradberry if we can have 3. Then use the draft for all offense, except we need to plug the FS hole (even in DMac stays one more year).

I understand his value there but think his speed and instincts could make him a great free safety.

His instincts are great. Could be a good fit. I am not sure.

he had some struggles covering tight ends in the RZ, it seems harder to me to stick with WR
