With the first pick of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Patriots...

Agree on LT in free agency. Cam Robinson sucks, don’t go near him. Jackson or Noteboom would be nice.

Trade for Deebo 4th plus Bourne)

Trade down with the pick, take BPA with it. Hunter, Graham, Carter. Get a First in 26’ and a second this year and next year.

Trade back into the first for Ersery or Simmons.

Use 2nd on top remaining receiver or DT, maybe interior OL.

Cam Robinson had a bad year with the Jags this season, but the Vikes are undefeated since he has been with them and Darnold has been on fire. I know he has been injured in recent weeks, but I think he had a solid game this week. And from what I have read in several places that overall he has done a good job protecting Darnold's blindside since he got in Minnesota.

But prior to this year, Robinson has been a great pass blocker although an average run blocker. If he can return to his 2023 form, he is a very good 2-3 year solution until the Pats can draft or develop a franchise LT.

I'm kind of weary of Cam Robinson's free agent profile here. The only way he's signing here is going to be if it's a cushy multi year deal. If it's a 1 year deal he'll sign with a better team. He's going to be 30 years old and a cushy multi year deal likely carries him into retirement. It's ripe for him to get lazy.

I'd much, much rather go for Rams LT Alaric Jackson or Steelers LT Dan Moore. Both will be going into their age 27 seasons. That 3 year age difference means that they'll be playing on their next deal to set themselves up for one more after that. Even if the team sucks here, there's still motivation for them to continue to play well rather than just mail it in and cash out.

Being as terrible a team as we are, I want to make sure we don't throw money at guys who just use this as a retirement home. I'd rather go for guys who still are personally incentivized to play well and continue to elevate their game.

I also understand that everyone wants younger players so I'm not dismissing entirely that we might have to settle for older ones. I'm just establishing what I would prioritize.

Dude is a loudmouth CLOWN, like he was when he played.
Look up how many tackles that loudmouth had...it's embarrassing.
He is a loudmouth and he didn’t like to tackle but he can coach and he sure could cover receivers and return kicks. Now with that said I wouldn’t want him as coach. Like someone mentioned he would want QB son here which means trading Maye.

Every game Maye had played was meaningless, except to his development.
The Bills are trying to win a SB our draft slot is the least of their concerns.

I mean if you want to say throw the game, go ahead, but be honest don’t couch it in saying a rookie qb who has won 1 game all year and seems to be stagnated won’t benefit from playing more football.
I see your points but I don't think on this current team he will get any additional development playing another game in a dysfunctional/devoid of talent offense. I would like to see Milton for four quarters and see how he looks to know if we can let Brissett walk.

We need to draft WR from Louisiana apparently

I hated him too for the same reasons. it brought me great joy the one time i saw him try and make a tackle and he got hurt, something with his eye. He was close to crying because it hurt. IMO he was trying to emulate Ali with his hystrionics and loud mouth. He was a punk

Can we please not count our draft picks before they hatch?

The value of the #1 pick is greater than any player the Patriots could get there. I love the idea of Hunter more than a lot of people but I love the idea of 2-3 first round picks a lot more.

If this team fell into the #1 spot because they were dealing with injuries all year and were a game breaker player away I’d be all on board with Hunter. He could be the next Randy Moss, he could be the next Darrelle Revis and you still have a mountain of other positions to fill
A second 1st round picks only happens because you're trading with a team picking later, like the Raiders. At that point you may end up picking a LT like Banks, if he's still there, but so many scouts are hating on Banks and Campbell, you could end up with a bust. And then, what if the Raiders are actually good next year and you traded the #1 for a bust and the 19th pick in the 2026 draft?

I know we have a lot of disagreement on this board of what to do with the Pats' first pick. But I found something we all can agree on. Nick Wright has come up with the most moronic thing imaginable for the Pats to do with the #1 pick along with our current QB 1.

In the second to last day of the year, let's all come together and mock Nick Wright and his stupid 20-0 Chiefs undefeated season tattoo.

Fkn idiot.

Why would they want to trade with us knowing we don’t need a qb
Because then any team below them can leapfrog to take the best QB at the #1 pick.

#2 doesn't secure the best QB in the draft.

Once a team falls in love with a QB prospect they need to pay to make that happen.

For example a while back the Chargers leap frogged from #4 to the #1 pick to take Eli Manning.

New York Giants#1 overall pick (Eli Manning)
San Diego Chargers#4 overall pick (Philip Rivers), #65 pick (Nate Kaeding), #12 pick (Shawne Merriman), #144 pick (Jerome Collins)

I wonder if Spagnolo coukd be convinced to take another HC job?

I stopped reading after this part. An uneducated and unsubstantiated opinion. If you took the time to study both players, they are nothing a like. Tet is far far greater than Harry.
Dude it’s not necessary to be a prick to people who have a different opinion of your binkie. For your information @Ochmed Jones has been a great poster here for probably 20 years. I don’t agree with all his opinions but to exemplify his level of knowledge I suggest you check out the season standings in the weekly picks contest, you will see that to this point his record is 178 correct versus 69 wrong plus 8 no picks which are counted as wrongs. So just this season he’s been right 101 times more than he’s been wrong.

We get it, you have your mind made up that the Pats need a WR with their top pick. That’s more than fine and many here seem to agree with you, but almost everyone here is able to express themselves without being a jerk to posters who see things differently. Also you need to keep in mind that guys like Ochmed, and even more so @BaconGrundleCandy who you were a prick to this week on a different thread, they’ve earned the respect of most folks here based on many years of contributing here. Bacon has probably contributed more content in this forum than any other poster over the past 10 years. Try harder please to review your posts before submitting them (or shortly afterwards if need be) and when you do to ask yourself whether you would want someone to converse with you the way you are about to with them.

You have two QBs predicted to go with the first two picks, you don’t need a QB.

Could whomever you now pick at #8 or #9 be a bust? Sure, so could whoever you use the #1 pick on.

And next year at minimum you’re starting with two 1st round picks. You’re legitimately setting yourself up to have two top ten picks for a roster that’s dreadfully lacking in talent.

You’re insulting yourself from a potential bust by loading up with more chances. It makes total sense

Kyren Lacy could be right there with their 2nd rounder. Nothing to lose with their WR drafting track record.
